Have you tried Glucosamine/Chondroitin? It works to help rebuild damaged

cartilage... which may be part of the problem. On the upside... it can't

HURT! I find that it makes a BIG difference for me!

P.S. Here's a Google search on the subject, if you wanna read up on it:

Re: Knee pain

Thanks to everyone that's responded..

I went to an orthopedic surgeon that specializes in sports medicine.

I had xrays taken in May from my primary care physician, which shows

no problems. The orthopedic poked around at my knee and then had me

bend my knee as he felt it...The evaluation took less than 5

minutes.

I scheduled an appt. to start physical therapy tomorrow, so I'll see

what the therapist says..

My delimma is this.. I've finally gottem myself into a 6 day/week

exercise routine and I'm loving it... I started exercising in Jan and

went from 2 days/week to 6! I also eased myself into the exercising,

starting with just walking on the treadmill to working myself up to

40 minutes on the elliptical and doing 2 body pump classes a week.

In mid june, I had my 6 month fit check at the health club and they

suggested that I start doing a combination of free weights and

circuit training and do interval training on the treadmill instead of

the elliptical...I did that for 2 weeks and stumbled upon the BFL

site and then this group... That motivated me to start my first

challenge, which I started last monday...this is my second week..

Within the last month of working out with weights, I've become more

motivated..especially the last week with the BFL weight plan..I can

see a big difference in my biceps and shoulders after just one week :)

My other delimma is that I get a partial reimbursement from my health

care plan if I do 150 visits in a year... I figured it out to be

about 3 visits per week. I got behind the last time and I'm just

about caught up...I don't want to get be behind again...

I think I'm going to try to do 15-20 minutes on the elliptical for my

cardio today and I'll see what the physical therapist says tomorrow.

I did think about getting some glucosamine/Chondroitin, but it can be

pretty expensive so I have to wait until Payday on Friday;)

I went to the Physical therapist today and he took measurements and

gave me some homework exercises to do to strengthen up my muscles

around the knee and hip..Fortunately he said that my choice in

sneakers were good :) (new Balance) because they have a good arch

support.

I start PT up on Friday morning :) He suggested that I use the

bicycle (lower seated one) instead of sprints on the treadmill and

take it easy on my lower body until we strengthen the other muscles

in my leg..

Sounds like you're off to a good start with the PT.

The one I got is in liquid form, and I just put a tablespoon in my shake

twice a day. It was about $15... definitely cheaper than capsules or

tablets... whose absorption may not be as good, and why pay more for

something that goes in the toilet?

Anyway... good luck with the PT, and I'm sure you're going to do just fine.

Keep a positive attitude... and don't give up!
