Dear Mygla,

Welcome to the group. I am one of the " moldy oldies " that have been a

member for two years. We are here to help one another. As KC says and I know

VERY

personally, there are no SILVER BULLETS. But a lot of good advice here. IM

sorry you had to find us because you are sick as well. I am homebound with air

cleaners and have MCS (multiple chemical sensitivities) I cant handle a lot of

odors or smells. Ive been doing this for two years due to a moldy workplace. I

have since gone as they got rid of me by saying I was causing trouble. It was a

government building. They let me go at 39 years old.

Again, welcome and God Bless,

Janet

Thank you for sharing your story. We know it took alot to leave everything

behind, and loose your home. Many of us here have had to do that also. It

is a hard road back, but you will do it, but it is worth it when your family

gets better. I am glad you were smart enough to know about mold. Thank

goodness you found out. It is good to hear that you have gotten treatment

that has helped, I hope all goes good for you and your family.

[] Are you longing for fresh air?

This is great - finally to find people like you - and share all the

information here.

My story is that I live in Iceland (Europe) :-) I got mold problem

in my house - got it tested (chatemoium, aspergillus, mucor and

more). Moved out - lost my home - lost ALL my belongings due to

toxins and all the family lost their health. -Mygla

Mygla, are you familiar with the Icelandic outbreak of ME/CFS?:

" Akureyri Disease " ?

-

>Iceland: In early winter in 1948 to 1949, an extensive epidemic

broke out in the town of Akureyri in Iceland. Women were affected

more than men, although the sex ratio was equal less than 20 years

of age. The illness spread rapidly but was confined to the town. It

did not appear to be spread by water, milk, food or sewerage but

instead by close contact with those affected. In 1955, 39 patients

of the 1948 epidemic were re-examined. Of those more severely

affected, only 25% had completely recovered, 52% had residual muscle

tenderness and 65% had objective neurological signs. Of those only

mildly affected in 1948, only 44% had recovered fully with 50%

having muscle tenderness and 19% having residual objective

neurological signs.<

welcome mygla, and thanks for your story. it appears you have the

same molds that are here in the US, all the ones you list were in my

homes, and a few more. glad you are doing better. I still deal with

the tingleing, numbness, and burning , but its not as constant as it

was, let us know what you find

out.

No I didnt know about this - where did you find it? I am interested.

But I am sure (and I know many) people are living with molds in their

homes and workplaces - No one seems to link it with mold since the

outdoor air is so good.

Well the general public is beginnig to listen to me (I have been on

the radio twice)- since there are so many people sick without getting

help from medicine.

But inside our homes we have humidity and mold growing just like you

in USA. We have so warm and tight houses here in Iceland - and we

hardly ever have exhaust fans for kitchen or dryers.

And so many houses have water merging in the ceiling or walls. So we

make our homes tempting for molds to grow in.

I am exposed in many commercial buildings and homes here - and some

days I cant go shopping in specific stores.

But if someone would be interested to come for a visit - I will be

willing to assist. But maybe most of you are like me - I feel my best

at home where I can have things in place they way I need them to be.

Like no perfumes and cleaning products.

Greetings

Mygla
