It's not just the artificial sweeteners that are poison...here's a excellent 90

minute lecture by H. Lustig, MD, a UCSF Professor of Pediatrics in the

Division of Endocrinology. He explores the damage caused by sugary foods. He

argues that fructose (too much) and fiber (not enough) appear to be cornerstones

of the obesity epidemic through their effects on insulin and is also responsible

for Metabolic Syndrome.
