Guest guest
> this person has /had many of the symptoms that i have still have ,,,,, one more piece of the puzzle......rt > It is incredible to watch all this happening and be unable to warn anyone in advance, or engage peoples interest in taking an active role in researching their illness after they are sick. I know of a building in which the employees know full well that the place is making them ill but continue to act as if they cannot see it happening. An acquaintance worked there until the point of winding up in the hospital with all these same mold problems - and the doctors are mystified and clueless. Her physician treated her with antibiotics, and for a few weeks, her very life was in doubt. She made it through this crisis, and after a few months, attempted to return to work. It didn't take a crystal ball to predict what was going to happen. She completley collapsed within a few days and was forced to quit, knowing that she cannot return without relapsing. She is now unable to work. The odd part is that this person saw all this happen to me, knows my entire story and has seen Dr Shoemakers books - yet this happened to her anyway. She told her physicians about my experience and Dr Shoemakers work and said that the doctor sounded interested, but is treating her for allergies. I repeated that this is not an allergy and offered to talk to the doctor, but she decided to just go along with the doctors treatment plan and not pursue Dr Shoemakers concepts or try to pursuade the doctor to have a meeting with me. So here we have a person who had every reason to know what she was getting into, is aware of Dr Shoemakers work, witnessed the CFS epidemic from the beginning and has heard my story of the sick buildings involved, watched me fall apart and recover by a strategy of mycotoxin avoidance... and after all this - she still turns away from everything we have learned in favor of treatment by doctors who admit they don't understand her illness. And the doctors that were offered a chance to talk to a mold survivor whose experience has been substantiated by Dr Shoemakers science decided to pass up on this opportunity. Guest guest
, I have had the same things happen to me. First, my neighbors wouldn't believe the condos had mold, believed the condo board who told them I was crazy. I even showed them photos of the mold and rot. One neighbor in the same building died of cancer, but the family refused to believe that their unit also had mold even though they knew the building was covered in dry/wet rot. They saw the siding removed and the black rot underneath, but still didn't think anything was wrong! " Just dry-rot, " they said. My immediate next door neighbor told me that she just " didn't want to know " about the mold. Maybe that is the case, the power of denial, I guess. Since my ordeal, I have known friends that have been sick and also have had flooded basements and visiible mold, but still refuse to believe it! I have a retired doctor friend here in Florida, who has absolutely no interest in exploring the kingdom of fungi, and it's connection to illness. What happened to inquiring minds? It is mind boggling......
