Guest guest
I came across neurofeedback as a "procedure to avoid" on the following Quackwatch link: http://www.quackwatch.org/01QuackeryRelatedTopics/mentserv.html. They reckon there are no well designed studies to support the claims of neurotherapists. The article is written by an MD and includes quite a list of therapies to avoid. I'm sure some of them may be suspect, but there are certainly others that we know are helpful, for example Auditory Integration Training for autism. We saw such dramatic results for our son with that intervention ... and in a very short space of time. It sounds like the author thinks everything is a bit dodgy except for what he does. Reminds me of my friend who is the Director of Paediatrics at our local regional hospital. He says that if any of these alternative treatments actually worked then they would be in the mainstream by now with doctors performing the intervention. So blind ...
