Guest guest
Hi Oh, I am sorry to hear that now Allainey has you all stressed out! I'm sure that you've caught it early enough to get correction. Hmmmm, it terms of progressive..... I'd guess it is, as she still has her main growth spurt to come, but I'd think that she'd be an ideal candidate for a cast. Siobhan was diagnosed at 2 yo (23*), and has now just turned 5 (45* before the cast). Were you thinking she might be older? As to how she's doing in her cast.... GREAT! It hasn't been the best time of year to put her into a cast, as swimming, water parks etc are off the menu this year. Plus we're in yet another heat wave out here on the West Coast! But she's a trooper, and is taking it all in her stride. I can't remember, did you have a doctor lined up to cast Nate? Will he cast Allainey? (love the name btw!!). Its great that you are totally on top of it, and I know you'll continue to keep us updated. Sending *Happy Vibes* your way Jacki > How old is Siobhan? I tried to look back but I couldnt find any posts > where you said how old she was. What were her measurements after the > first cast? How is she doing??? > >
Guest guest
Thanks for the " happy vibes " I sure can use all I can get lately!! I knew from the pictures that Siobhan that she was older (not a toddler like Nate and ) I just wasnt sure how old she was. It was encouraging that she was " schoolage " and getting casted. It makes me feel like theres some hope for Lain. Dr Tamai in Cincy was willing to cast Nate, but with a Risser cast. Although, Im thinking that if Lainey does progress and casting is still an option for her, that I would consider Shriners. Dr. D'Astous has been doing such an awesome job with all of our beautiful little ones!! So far the only things I know for sure about Lain are that she has double 20* curves with no known structural abnormality. She is scheduled for the MRI on Aug 9th. The results will be given at our next appointment (Aug 17th) with Dr Albert (the prick) because " he knows more about the treatment strategies they use at this office " (this was what the " new " doctor said at our visit.) I will know for sure if shes idiopathic or not after that. Thanks again for your help and support!!
Guest guest
Hi Jacki, Isn't Siobhan five? Cameron is also five, he and his little brother are getting casted in dec. I was wondering how you prepared her for the cast. With him being older, I'm sure it will be harder to explain and for him to adjust than it will for Dyl. He's already kinda shy. Also, can you please tell me again what kind of correction you've been getting? Good luck in Utah! Take Care! S.
