Introduction to the BioGraph Infiniti Suite for TLC Assessment and Training The TLC Assessment system created by Van Deusen (The Learning Curve - TLC) provides numerous integrated views of the data from 10 or 12 sites and entails a process for looking at brain patterns as a basis for determining training plans quickly and effectively. It enables users to produce detailed pictures of brain activation patterns in about 60 minutes. It is important to understand that, at this point in time, you need to learn the TLC assessment interpretation from Van Deusen. The BioGraph Infiniti Script for TLC Assessment is a Thought Technology's BioGraph Infiniti easy-to-run script, created by Francois Dupont, Ph.D., used to create a set of files that can be imported into the TLC assessment. The script (a feature unique to the Infiniti) allows you to accurately run the three activities needed in the TLC assessment for exactly one minute each; eyes closed, eyes open and a different task associated with the electrode placements. After each activity you see the statistics for that activity and you have the option to repeat it if something went wrong, allowing you to record the data over again for that specific activity. When you are ready to proceed with an activity, all you have to do is press a key to continue. A status bar at the bottom of the screen lets you know what is happening during the script. On-screen instructions guide you through the assessment and help you instruct your client. After recording each placement pair (i.e. F3F4), you will be prompted to run the full script again, with all the previous settings, at the touch of a key. Once you have completed all 5 or 6 pairs of placements for the assessment, you may use Automatic and/or Manual artifact rejection. Then, you easily export the 5 or 6 session files that you recorded into a TXT format. These are the files that will be imported into the TLC assessment spreadsheet (Excel file). Once imported in the TLC assessment spreadsheet (Excel file), the results can be directly compared to other TLC assessments done on other platforms (hardware and software). Note that the BioGraph Infiniti Script for TLC Assessment is a standalone script. You can use it without transferring the results to the TLC assessment, if you wish. You can create trend reports between activities (eyes closed, eyes open and a task) and between sessions. You could decide to run the script every training session to assess improvement over time. The BioGraph Infiniti Suite for TLC Assessment and Training also includes training screens replicating Van Deusen’s approach: Squish, Squash, Windowed-Squash, SMR % power, theta/beta ratio, etc. Plus some experimental complex ratios screens (Dupont). The BioGraph Infiniti Suite for TLC Assessment and Training can be used with the ProComp Infiniti, the ProComp2 and the ProComp+ encoders; they have the same options. We do have some on-line workshops in the works, more info will be coming soon.
