It seems that the attached file did not make it. So here is the text:

Installing TLC Assessment Files for BIOGRAPH INFINITI

BEFORE YOU START:

1. You MUST have a version of Microsoft Excel on your hard drive. TLC only supports versions later than Excel 97.

2. Make sure you have the latest BEProConsult.zip file from www.brain-trainer.com

3. There are two files required for the TLC Pro assessment to be used in either Infiniti:“TLC with optional sites” This is an Excel file, which goes in the XLStart folder in your C drive, containing the macros that load the data, etc. It won't open, so it may appear to be empty.“TLC Pro Assess Consult” This is an Excel file, which can go wherever you choose to keep it, that includes the assessment form with all its views of the data (Reports, Heads, Maps, Histograms, etc.) When it opens, it asks you to Enable macros, which allows them all to work.

UNZIP THE FILES

1. Right-click the zip file (BEProConsult). Depending on the zip software on your computer, there will be an option to UNZIP the files. Unzip them into a folder on your desktop or some place to make them easy to find.

2. Open the folder you have just created. RIGHT-click “TLC with optional sites.xls” and choose “Copy” from the dropdown menu. In your Windows Start menu, choose Search or Find. Search for Files and Folders on the C drive, and enter “XLStart” as your search. You should find something similar to: “C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\XLSTART”. When the folder is found, double-click the XLStart folder to open it. RIGHT-click in any open area of the window that opens and choose Paste. The TLC with optional sites.xls file should appear. Close the window.

3. In the folder you created, find the Excel file called TLC Assess Pro Consult.xls. Double-click it to open. If you have Excel installed, the file should open automatically. You may get a box asking if you wish to “Update Links”. Click “No” and the file will finish opening. YOU NOW ARE DONE WITH THE INSTALLATION OF THE TLC ASSESSMENT (EXCEL FILE) FOR USE WITH THE BIOGRAPH INFINITI SCRIPT FOR TLC ASSESSMENT.

4. You should be on the Report page. You can navigate through the form by clicking the pages listed across the bottom of the Excel window (e.g. Process, Report, Heads). If you don’t see them, click the “resize” (squares) icon at the top right of your window between the “_” and the “X”) to fit your window to the screen size.

5. You should see three colored buttons at the right of the window. If you don’t see the buttons, you may have to scroll to the right.

6. Left-click the Perform Assessment button. A window called “Assessment Raw Data Files” should open. If it does, you are ready to save the form. If you get an error message, close it and proceed with the following steps.

7. RIGHT-click on the Clear Data button. In the drop-down menu that opens, select “Assign Macros”. (If this does not appear, go to the Tools menu and select Protection: Unprotect Sheet, then repeat this step).

8. In the window that opens there should be a box that lists a series of Macros. Select the one that ends in “init” and click OK

9. RIGHT-click on the Perform Assessment button. In the drop-down menu, select the line in the box that ands with “Assessment:Assessment” and click OK.

10. RIGHT-click on the Save Assessment button. In the drop-down menu, select the line in the box that ands with “Save:Assess” and click OK.

11. Click on any blank cell on the form, and return to step 6 above. If the data entry window opens, go to step 12. If it still doesn’t open, check the Troubleshooting section below.

12. Select Save in the File menu. You may keep the assessment forms anywhere you wish. One excellent option is to open them and choose “Save As” from the File menu. Choose “Template” from the “File Type” list below the file name. Make sure the file name is correct and click OK.

13. If you save your forms as Templates, then simply open Excel, and choose “New” from the File menu. The templates will be listed and you can select the one to use.

TROUBLESHOOTING:

If the files don’t open properly or don’t load the data entry page, check the following:

1. In the Start menu on your computer, Search in “All Files and Folders” and “Hard Drives ©” for “TLC with optional sites.xls”. You should find only one copy, and it should be inside the “XLStart” folder, and it should be the ONLY TLC file in that folder. If there are multiple copies or in the wrong place or other TLC files in XLStart, fix this.

2. Open the TLC Assess file and, in the Tools menu, select Macro:Macros. This should open a window with a list of macros. Choose the one that ends with Assessment and click Run. If the macro opens the data entry window, you have the wrong address assigned to your button. Repeat steps 10-13 above with the correct address.

3. If your form provides strange numbers, you may be using a non-US number system in Excel. In your START menu, go to Settings: Control Panel or just Control Panel (depending on the version of Windows you are using) and select the Globe icon (Regional and Language Options). Double-click to open and select the Regional Options tab. You may change the Preference to English (US), or you can try changing the number line so it shows 123,456,789.00. Many non-US areas use decimal points to divide thousands and comma to divide decimals. If you have Excel set this way, it will cause major problems with number presentation in the assessment.

Bonjour,

I attached a Word file with the instructions for installation for the Infiniti platform. But the core, really, is what mentionned in a recent post (slightly modified here):

There are two files required for the TLC Pro assessment to be used in Infiniti:TLC with optional sitesThis is an Excel file, which goes in the XLStart folder, containing the macros that load the data, etc. It won't open, so it may appear to be empty.TLC Pro Assess ConsultThis is an Excel file, which can go wherever you choose to keep it, that includes the assessment form with all its views of the data (Reports, Heads, Maps, Histograms, etc.) When it opens, it asks you to Enable macros, which allows them all to work. For Infiniti users you also need a CD which include channel sets, screens and scripts developed by Francois Dupont to create files that will be imported into the "TLC Pro Assess Consult" Excel file. The assessment scripts (and included training screens) for the BioGraph Infiniti software work with ProComp+, ProComp2 and Infiniti encoders. The CD is available from www.brain-trainer.com or from www.bfe.org (though I don't find any actual link from the site that allows you to purchase the CD).

Hoping this helps,

Francois Dupont

Aloha

We have Procomp and Infinity Software. We are wondering if you could please translate the instructions from the Bioexplorer language, to an Infinity one? It would be much appreciated.

and ah
