I saw that -that was one of the products for sale I meant. What's odd to me is

that this idea is a theory as a possible use for this novel idea from a patent

filed in August of 2005

" 21. A method comprising:

contacting a toxic compound with a composition comprising a particle

comprising:

(a) a first region comprising an enzyme, wherein the enzyme acts to

transform the toxic compound into a substantially inactive compound; and

(B) a second region comprising a material selected to partition the

toxic compound into the second region,

wherein the first region is in contact with at least a portion of the

second region, and

wherein the contacting is for a time sufficient to allow the enzyme to

transform a portion of the toxic compound to the substantially inactive

compound.

22. A method of claim 21 wherein the composition is contacted with the body of a

subject.

23. The method of claim 22, wherein the subject is an animal.

24. The method of claim 22, wherein the subject is a human.

25. The method of claim 22, wherein the contacting comprises intravenous

delivery.

26. The method of claim 22 wherein the particle comprises a hollow tube open at

least at one end, wherein the hollow tube comprises an inorganic or polymer

material and wherein the first region comprises a hydrophobic compound attached

to an inside surface of the hollow tube and the second region comprises the

enzyme attached to a surface of the hollow tube.

27. The method of claim 22, wherein the particle has a size from approximately 1

to 200 nm. "

As far as I know this patent is still pending. So how with no research that I

can find on animals (no less humans) is this patch for sale to the public -and

for children?! Unless I saw something to back this up I wouldn't put that patch

on a tree. I didn't even post the link to this patch for that reason because

whatever they have on their site is to sell their 89 dollar patch. And as we

know from speak you can't always go by what one doctor has to say either -it's

up to us as parents in my opinion to dig deeper to try to find the truth/any

risks and if that's not possible because such as in this case it's too new -to

get multiple opinions and do your own searching too.

This looks like a good place to start looking deeper

2. EFSA NANOFOOD REPORT – The European Food Safety Authority has concluded its

assessment of the potential risks of nanotechnologies for food and feed, stating

that a cautious, case-by-case approach is needed as many uncertainties remain

over its safe use (see

http://www.foodnavigator.com/Legislation/EFSA-publishes-final-nano-risk-opinion)\

..

4. RUSSIA TAKES ACTION ON NANOSAFETY – The Russian agency for Health and

Consumer Rights and the Russian Corporation for Nanotechnologies signed an

agreement to provide mutual systematic, scientific and technical support in

validation and confirmation of nanoproducts safety, implementation of

nanotechnologies and creation of nanotechnological production (see

http://www.azonano.com/news.asp?newsID=10072).

6. IMPACT OF TOXICITY TESTING – Interesting article on the costs of toxicity

testing for regulation. “for the United States that costs for testing existing

nanoparticles ranges from $249 million for optimistic assumptions about

nanoparticle hazards (i.e., they are primarily safe and mainly require simpler

screening assays) to $1.18 billion for a more comprehensive precautionary

approach” (see http://pubs.acs.org/doi/pdf/10.1021/es802388s).

7. FDA INITIATIVE IN NANOMEDICINE – The FDA announced the creation of a

nanotechnology initiative in collaboration with the eight Texas academic

institutions that make up the Houston-based Alliance for NanoHealth. The FDA's

announcement describes the initiative's goal as " to help speed development of

safe and effective medical products.” This is something worth watching (see

http://www.technologyreview.com/blog/editors/23103/).

http://nanohype.blogspot.com/2009/03/separating-hype-from-buzz-031909.html

Not saying the patch doesn't have the possibility of being a good thing -but

after what happened to my son Tanner and many others with that product speak- in

my opinion it's wise to proceed with caution when you take the road less

traveled...heck in this case road that's not even a road yet -still a forest

from what I can tell.
