Guest guest
" After thinking more about that - I really think that's a fantastic idea! Stacey, since you're doing such a great job, you could volunteer your services to the poor, test their homes for free, line up (or do it yourself) remediation, and in the evening run a message board for those wanting info to build a green house! You could also set up a foundation and do fundraising for those who can't afford the medical care. AND in your spare time work on lobbying legislators for laws protecting people from shodding contractors and opportunistic indoor air inspectors. WOW! " Dear WIEDB and all, Thank you for your thoughts. Your friend sounds like an amazing, tenacious woman who I'm sure is missed by many. I actually do many of the things which you stated above. If you would like testimonials from clients (or the many people that I have helped for " free " ) please let me know. I have held fundraisers as well in the past, and have also had meetings and testified before senate committees in regard to IAQ/IEQ issues, consumer protection, etc. I help educate people whenever I'm given the opportunity (when of course they are open to learning.)And I also have been heavily involved in making the IAQ/IEQ industry a more credible one. I have written articles in several publications regarding " healthy homes " and green building. I of course still need to make an income to put a roof over my son's head and food in our mouths, so I chose to become a consultant so that I could " feed two birds with one seed " so to speak. The point that I've made from the beginning of my " journey " (you are welcome to go into the HADD sickhomes archives and read it if you like,) is that it is important to be proactive - which is exactly what I have been able to do. I work with clients who have been poisoned by pesticides, have MCS, etc. and I try to help them in any way I can (including teaching them about ALL of the things which can lead to bad IAQ/IEQ.) I'm not quite sure why made the statement about my attending " many conferences " but yes, I HAVE attended many conferences - because my desire was and is, to learn as much as I can. And yes - I do have " fun " at these conferences - in part because I am a " fun " person. My sense of humor is part of what has kept me sane more than once...I take notes, I listen, I ask questions. I won't be " contributing " to this list in the future, but if anyone has an honest and forthright question to ask me, feel free to do so. My contact info is all over the web, so it was rather unnecessary for to include it, as I don't see him posting everyone else's full contact info, but as I said, it's out there anyway... As email is an interesting form of communication, (without being able to look people in the eye, inflections, body language, tone, etc.) this is not written in an " attacking " or " defensive " tone, but rather one of mellow calmness. Best Regards, Stacey Champion Owner/Consultant Champion Indoor Environmental Services
