Hi

Are your kids being casted or they being watched because the curves are under 20?

Hello everyone!I was just spending some time updating photos and making some space. I found out that after you add a new photo, you can go in to look at it and it should say "FULL SIZE" at the top right side of the picture. If you go into that and click DELETE FULL SIZE ONLY" then it will get rid of the big version of your picture and keep the smaller one. This will keep our file sizes down and allow more pictures to be posted. Ive added new photos sent to me of and (sorry for the delays!!) I also added recent photos of my son Nate and my daughter Alley. Their next ortho appointment is Oct 15th. Nate is looking great, but Lain worries me. Shes complaining of headaches and her appetite is decreasing. Im on pins and needles for the next two and a half weeks!!For those who dont know us:iel

was diagnosed infantile scoliosis last Thanksgiving. He has a single curve that started at 17o then went to 21o four months later. In April he was down to 15o. We are hoping that he is one of the "supposed majority" who are self correcting. Nate is 21 months old now. He will be two Jan 14th. (Talkin up a STORM and INTO EVERYTHING!!) Allainey was diagnosed juvenile scoliosis this past April because I saw her bend over in a bathing suit and noticed a very slight rib hump. She had a full physical the year before and had NO SIGNS! She also had an xray in October of last year for something unrelated and had no curve at all. This April she had a double curve at 20 and 21o. Since then I have noticed her back beome more and more misshapen. She just turned nine at the end of August. Shes doing great in school (fourth grade this year) and is very outgoing and has tons of friends this year!! Shes a HUGE help with Nate and

loves to be the "little mommy." The last few years with her and school have been rough, but shes finally growing up and maturing a bit!! Im looking forward to this school year! :)I promise not to go so long without posting again!! Its been a little nuts here! Im back to working full time and still carry 12 credits (four classes) a quarter to get my Bachelors degree. I love hearing about all the little ones getting such AWESOME results!! Casting is really taking off!! Its sooo wonderful!!Love you all and best wishes!!__________________________________________________

Hi ,

Nate appears to be reducing (around 17o last visit- down from 21) so

he is under observation - xrays every 4-6 months until he is under

10o for a year then her will only go once a year until hes done

growing. Alley has only been seen twice, once to diagnos and once to

read the MRI results. She goes with Nate in two weeks (three months

from diagnosis date) to see if shes progressing and we will decide

then what to do. I would love to get her casted, if its possible.

She is nine though, Im hoping shes still limber enough. I have all

the paperwork sitting on my kitchen counter waiting, flight and

hotel reservation details and all. If not we will just brace as best

we can and hope for the best. She still asks me how she " caught

scoliosis from her baby brother? " (he was diagnosed 6 months before

she was.) Theres no real way to explain to a nine year old

that " these things just happen "

Thanks!
