Another good alternative is wax paper. I've been using paper & waxpaper for

yrs. since I first heard about the issues with plastic. I just recently

found the small wax paper bags (sandwich size) like my mom used when I was a

kid. Haven't seen them in years!

The safest way to nuke is to place another plate/lid etc., over the

orignal one made of glass.

Worse case scenario...use a papertowel.

Wax paper presents its own set of problems.

If you elect to use aother bowl etc to nuke, leave a little room for the

built up steam to vent.
