Guest guest
Hi Barb: Our home is basically " clean " but I can smell things my husband cannot and whenever he brings something new into our home I smell it and whatever it is needs to be washed well first before it can remain in the home or " detoxed " outside depending on what it is. I don't physically react to all odors such as the aroma of a wonderful cup of coffee or fresh cut flowers from my garden. Dry cleaned clothes, new appliances and electronics, new clothes, etc do affect me. Smiles my husband had a hard time believing my chemical sensitivities but now he does. The question for YOU is are you reacting to chemicals/fragrances or do you just have a more fine tuned " smeller " . Major stress in your life will affect your adrenals and often increases your heightened awareness of odors. Rosie [] Re: Blood brain barrier (reply) Now I'm concerned about what you and said. Did it seem to you that you smelled things more strongly than you did before? That is something I have noticed. I thought it was because I've cleaned up my house so well, that I am 'used' to very clean air and so now things are smelling stinky to me because I've become accustomed to very, very clean air, but I have had this where smells seem very strong for me and I will stop going down an aile and go detour around it to avoid it. Is this what you are went/are going through?? I must admit I have found the symptoms of chemical sensitivity that you all describe difficult to believe myself, even though you are sound so intelligent and 'sane'. Guest guest
So far, I just had that one incident when I threw up after being hit by what seemed to me to be a horrible smell in that aile at Biggs. The odd thing was that noone else seemed to notice it, or at least wasn't bothered by it. I will just have to see. I've had some other incidences where I thought things smelled unusually strong. I'll have to wait and see if other people notice smell the same and of course, whether I have any other reactions. I sure hope not. I always thought it sounded terrible what MCS people go through. > > Hi Barb: Our home is basically " clean " but I can smell things my husband > cannot and whenever he brings something new into our home I smell it and > whatever it is needs to be washed well first before it can remain in the
Guest guest
That reminds me of a time I visited my sister. I was ok the first day but had to sleep in the lower level. It wasn't a basement but something bothered me. I am not sure if it was antique furniture but I kept my nose under the covers all night. The next morning I was ok and ate breakfast and we were going out to visit someone. We got in the car and we weren't down the road a few minutes and I was vomiting in the car. Didn't even have a chance to do anything. Luckily I had a plastic bag in the car. Needless to say we turned around and I was sick for some time. I slept upstairs the next night. > > > > Hi Barb: Our home is basically " clean " but I can smell things my > husband > > cannot and whenever he brings something new into our home I smell it > and > > whatever it is needs to be washed well first before it can remain in > the >
