Hi Pamela,

I agree with you that ADHD is quite debilitating, I have suffered most of my

life. I have tried both modafinil and depreny. In my personal experience the

both work quite well. Modafinil allows you to concentrate and get a lot of

tedious work done. I have used it for extensive periods of time and stopped

it abruptly without consequences. The only caveat is it makes you (or at

least makes me) sort of emotionless . I can get a lot of work done, but

somehow without flavor. I have also used deprenyl which I still use till

now. I like deprenyl because it adds a little to my drive while allowing me

to maintain my personality. I would start with the Deprenyl 5mg once daily

and increase the dose up to 10mg day. You can use it twice a day but with

late dosing you run the risk of Insomnia, if that does not get the results

you want you can switch to Modafinil.

I would not recommend the combination as it would make you quite edgy.

Hi Bob:

I have found now after taking Modafinil for a few weeks, that it can

make me so intense in the early day, that I feel tired toward the end

of the day and need a short nap. The other problem is that it lasts

so long that even if I take 100 mg just as I get up in the morning,

it is still providing vigilance and wakefulness until nearly 24 hours

later. I love the effects for concentration and vigilance but I want

it to stop doing that after 16 hours, usually. It just seems to last

too long. Maybe I should try to reduce the dose to 50 mg.

Perhaps it is because I also take liquid Deprenyl citrate (2 drops in

the morning). Deprenyl alone does not seem to be a stimulant for me,

however. Your warning to Pamela about edginess with them taken

together is something to consider, thanks for that.

Do you think it would be wise to both cut the Deprenyl and lower the

Modafinil dose to 50 mg and see how that works?

Thank you Bob and . I started the deprenyl today

and will post results in a week. I want to give it a

chance before adding the Modafinil. I will be so

grateful if this works.

IMO Deprenyl is probably much better for you...
