Guest guest
I was alwasys told that an MRI is what you needed because there more acurect an the x-rays I would see if they would do the MRI if not find some esle thats good she has a low degree curve. good luck, Bridgette ISABELLA'S APPOINTMENT Hello everyone,Isabella went to her ortho appointment and had an x-ray. Her curvature degree was 11%. The dr. ruled out congenital from the x-ray. Could this be possible or do you need to have an MRI done to rule out congenital?Lori (mom to Isabella)
Guest guest
Lori, I am in the same position. Nats curve isnt quite large enough to cause great concern. Which means they dont want to do an MRI yet either. The reasoning I got from his ortho, is that unless he really needs it, they dont like to do MRI's on young children. They have to use a mild setative to keep them calm and still. If I were you, (and Im having to do the same thing) I would just keep a close eye on Bella (such a cute nickname!!) and make sure you take her in every 4 months or so to keep tabs on her curve. If it goes up at all I would stress an MRI. Im very glad for you that its just 11!! > Hello everyone, > > Isabella went to her ortho appointment and had an x-ray. Her > curvature degree was 11%. Guest guest
, you are correct about the sedative. had to be sedated for: EKG, Echocardiogram, MRI and CAT Scan. They generally use a liquid that is given orally, but I know they also do IV's. had the liquid for everything. You are also correct about watching your baby yourself. You will notice if something doesn't seem quite the same faster than anyone. Good Luck to you, Lori and your little ones! Gail Re: ISABELLA'S APPOINTMENT Lori,I am in the same position. Guest guest
Lori, Tawney and I once heard of a little boy that was placed in Risser casts for almost a year (i think), before they did an MRI to find that it was congenital. heather I would definately get a second or third opinion. If 5 docs tell you its infantile then maybe i would believe it. dont mean to be negative...just want to be sure.
