,

I am not sure that I buy this. For one, I am not sure how the

kombucha yeasts could exacerbate a candida infection. Also, I have

a book called wild fermentation by Sandor Ellix Katz (sp?) who has

AIDS. He takes kombucha and seems to sing praises for it along all

other sorts of fermented foods.

Wow, , that's one massive old wife's tale.

Totally untrue. You would think that socalled doctors could

do their homework... maybe she isn't one?

Anyway, here a link to hold up Kombucha as just the thing to have

if you want to get rid of Candida albicans ... the efficacious,

acidic kind of Kombucha tea, of course ;-)

You see, , you're right on there......

:-) Bless you,

Sadly, a few authors only repeat what others have written about

and fail to do any real investigative reporting on their own.

Hobbs is another repeater (in warning about AIDs and

Kombucha). I have no problem with their opinions but I believe

they must source their references or state that it is their

opinion. In regards to Alena Pascal statement I would question

her " research " . Many KT drinkers, and many on this list, have

stated that KT appears to at least suppressed, if not cured,

their Candida. Alena is flat out wrong on both counts.

just one source ....

Increased CD4 cells count (between 200-500 cell/uL).

opportunistic infections didn't take place.

and the remission of the following symptoms:

Depression * Insomnia * Fever

Diarrhea * Appetite increase

I am not saying that KT is a cure for AIDs or Candida or anything.

I am saying is there is no evidence or even testimony from KT

drinkers that KT is guilty of any adverse effects for AIDS or

Candida sufferers. The warning if any should be the SUGAR content.

The KT yeasts and Candida yeast do not compliment each other

they compete. They are different species. Additionally

the acids in KT appear to hinder the Candida as well - but

that's all just my opinion.

Kombuch vs. Candida Albicans (cross post)

I was reading the book by Alana Pascal, " Kombucha, How-To and What

It's All About. " She issued a " special warning to AIDS patients. "

She said that AIDs patients have virulent candida infections and

should not use Kombucha. She says, " The yeasts inherent to the

Komobucha culture and beverage will aggravate this very dangerous

situation. "

My question: I thought Kombucha was used to heal candida. I have

read elsewhere that it has helped clear up yeast infections caused

by candida overgrowth. So just what am I to believe? This is all

very conflicting information here.

Ed,

Do you know of an English version to the info on www.ayoram.com? I know

that in Mexico, there are hundreds of doctors and health care workers who

advocate many varieties of alternative healthcare methods. I appreciate

that! Too bad that the number of testimonies and case histories of

kombucha, and other healthcare alternatives, is not honored by our health

community (i.e., the FDA, AMA, etc.). I mean, it is a sad thing that we can

not use the word " cure " , when we see how hundreds, and thousands have been

helped by kombucha, or some herb. It seems that they (the orthodox medical

community) are bent on putting fear into the general public to be afraid of

anything that is not produced by the pharmaceutical companies. I remember

how thousands of people were helped by the herb " chaparral " , then one person

gets ill, and it is taken off the market (at least I see it coming back to

many Mexican Yerberias). How many drugs, that the FDA approves of, have

terrible contra-indications, that they allow to stay on the market. Gee, it

could not be that money is at the root of this behavior, could it? Hmmm!

Oh, please, pardon my tirade, as one can probably tell, I am passionate

about this subject.

Good health to all,
