Guest guest
Hi-- I'm new to this group & BFL. I have just completed week 4 and am getting really discouraged as I have not seen results. I have no access to calipers so I don't know my beginning body fat percentage, but I can assure you that it was high, high, high. I'm 5'9 " & weighed 174 to start. I hadn't worked out in months. I am still carrying an extra 15 pounds from baby #2. (He turned one yesterday.) I took all of my measurements when I started and they have all either stayed the same or gotten bigger! My clothes are still tight (if they fit at all) and the scale is saying 172. I feel better & am definitely firmer, but am not meeting my goals at all! I have not been 100% true to the eating plan, however, I have cut way back on carbs, increased proteins and cut back on food intake in general. I used to do Weight Watchers & have been trying to count points because I find that easier. Help! Shouldn't I be seeing some reduction (either at the scale or in inches)? Guest guest
You answered yourself... You are not following the food plan - only eating 3 meals a day - and thats because of your circumstances of being at school. However, you may not be getting enough calories. Have you thought about purchasing a tub of protein powder? You can get fruit at the food hall at school, and do a scoop of protein with a peice of fruit to compensate for the missed meals / calories. It's fairly cheap -- and it actually tastes pretty good. I would make sure you are hitting your 10s! Also, dont go by the scale! you will see results -- be patient. You didnt put the weight on in 4 weeks, it will come off! Rered Hussman's site, to see that you really do change from the inside out! www.hussman.org/fitness Hope that helps! > > I have been on BFL for four weeks. I have not seen any results. If there is any way you can bring meals and at least get 5 in, you will probably see bteter results. Also maybe post a menu of what you are eating. Guest guest
Nutrition is probably 80% of your results, so if you're not following the meal plan, your changes are going to be very slow. For maximum results, you should be eating a small protein and carb balanced meal every 2-3 hours. That can be as easy as packing a little insulated lunch box so you can grab a few bites between classes. Some on-the-go meal ideas: cottage cheese and berries turkey slices and grapes tuna pouch and wheat crackers low fat string cheese and dried apricots half a turkey sandwich on wheat bread hardboiled egg whites & orange slices If even that is too time consuming, or you don't have the means to prepare food at all, try to get your hands on some protein powder and a shaker bottle, or meal replacement shakes or bars. You can take bars with you in your purse and eat them anywhere. Soy nuts or Balance Go Mix would work too. Go Mix is like granola but it's high in protein and it has some chocolate and nuts in it. You can find near the meal replacement bars at grocery and drugstores. Hope that gives you a few ideas. Whole foods are best, but if they're not an option between classes, you can work around it.
