What should I look for when making choices? I do occasionally. Look for ingredients: try to choose healthier carb choices such as potatoes vs. rice or pasta (but those will do in a pinch). And read the label. I aim for equal amounts protein and carbs and no more than 7 grams of fat. I usually end up grabbing healthy choice's chicken or turkey with mashed potatoes. There are also some chili and soups that aren't too bad in a pinch. Just read the labels carefully. Colleen

So I would only use them in a pinch, like you said. =-)
Guest guest
The Lean Cuisine Chicken with Peanut sauce is pretty good stat wise and it tastes good as does the chicken with vegetables and glazed chicken. I'm not a cook either so I use a few of these a week. I tend to rely a lot on stuff you don't have to cook and if it's as idiot proof as these are I'll use them. Six minutes in the microwave and it's food. I'm single, but when I cook, I've gotten into the habit of cooking " the whole thing. " I did a 2-lb pork tenderloin a couple weeks ago. 2-lbs of chicken breasts on Sunday night. The extras get split up into individual ziplocs, then one goes in the fridge (probably for the next day's lunch) and the other couple servings go in the freezer. I can grab one out for a lunch or for dinner when I don't have time to cook or just don't feel like it. Add some frozen veg on the side. Not a glamorous dinner, but if you're microwaving anyway... Guest guest
I'm not single and I do that. Especially when I grill or bake potatoes (sweet or white) Both reheat quite nicely plus, most of the potatoes I find are the size of two portions anyway. For sweet potatoes, I slip them out of the skin and sort of mash and reheat. For white, I slice in chunks or strips and reheat and eat. Works great and is good use of the oven. I figure I might as well cook a lot since it's on for so long to bake potatoes. I know they can be nuked but they aren't as good that way and don't reheat as well.
