Guest guest
Thanks so much!! It is great to hear positive comments!! My neighbor is doing BFL with me and has the same fat pouch. I had never had it before until I gained weight after my 3rd c-section, the vertical incision. I figured it was just age that made me gain differently. There is actually a 4 inch difference between my waist and that pouch. Yikes!! I'm sure it will shrink, I just wish it were the first to shrink!! Of course we all have somewhere we wish we could lose first and that rarely happens!! Thanks again, From: thetenaciousj Sent: Monday, May 03, 2004 9:28 AM Subject: Re: starting week 6 stats and a question WOW! those are great results! good job! I don't know about the tummy thing, I do know either way, it is going to look 100percent better. Is your neighbor jealous? > I'm starting week 6 and so far so good. And I'm liking the numbers. My question is, I have a fat pouch on my abdomen and a neighbor was telling me that it might be difficult (her word was impossible) to lose because of my c-sections. I have had both bikini cuts and one vertical cut starting about 1/2 " below my belly button to my pubic bone. Any truth to what she is saying?? > > TIA, > > > >
Guest guest
Having been lucky enough to see many C-sections in my nursing rotation, I can vouch for the fact they don't cut the muscle. In fact, that is the longest part of the surgery...separating the abdominal muscles to get behind them. They do a manual blunt dissection, meaning they separate the muscle fibers with their fingers and don't use a scalpel to slice the muscle. This aids in recovery and has much better results for the woman. I had always thought they just cut through it and was surprised when I saw my first C-section. The nurse I was following explained the benefits of blunt dissection and although it takes longer than cutting, it's also safer..much less risk of damaging the bladder as well.
