Guest guest
Two suggestions: #1 - Get up earlier. I have to get up at 5am in order to workout while my kids are still sleeping (in my basement). #2 - Eat as soon as you get up. Maybe or Stasia can suggest a good combo to eat at that point. It's best to do HIIT On an empty stomach, but weights can go either way. I know some on this board simply cannot workout on an empty stomach because they feel they don't get as good a workout - lack of energy, etc.... I usually workout on an empty stomach every day, but that's just me. And I get in 5 or 6 meals a day, depending on my mood and what time I eat that first meal. I try to eat every 3 hrs, no matter what time my first meal is. That's my suggestions, hope they give you something to go on... in WI Question about eating your first meal > Hi everyone, > > I have a question about the first meal. > > I wake up at 7:00AM and after I'm done with working out it's about > 10:00AM(including 40min. roundtrip to and from gym and showering and > waiting an hour before eating etc). > > I usually have my first meal then. > > But I find it impossible to eat 5 meals a day, let alone 6 with that > schedule. > > I was wondering how do you guys manage the first meal? > > I thought you weren't supposed to eat before you exercise. > > But it seems like almost everyone's meal starts at 6. > > Should I just start out the day with an apple and some milk or > something half an hour before I exercise? > > Any advice? > > Thanks!! > > > > >
Guest guest
I have to eat first in situations like this and make sure that prior to cardio at least two hours have passed since I've eaten anything. Waiting that long to eat will only invite binge eating later in the day so have something small before working out like a Myoplex lite. Have it as soon as you wake up and sufficient time will pass between getting ready and commuting to the gym for your exercise to be of fat burning benefti. Then have a regular meal after your workout. That way you'll have two meals eaten by 10:00 am instead of none. You should be able to get all six in this way. The real goal here is not making sure you have an empty stomach, but making sure that you get all the food and exercise in. Hope this helps. Guest guest
I guess it does, doesn't it! Oops - of course I work out in my basement, 2 floors below the kids bedrooms, which is where they sleep!
