Guest guest
Check out the Exercise & Muscle Directory http://www.exrx.net/Lists/Directory.html It has lots of exercises for each muscle group along with video demonstrations. dumbell ideas I was just at the bookstore looking at books by Joyce Verdral and wondered if anybody out there had one of her books. Some are pretty out dated, and I'm not looking for info on the diet part, but what I liked was the varying exercises with *dumbells* for all the same areas I'm exercising with BFL. I guess I am looking for new ideas to change my routine and work the muscles differently. But I do not go to a gym, so cable pulls, lat pull downs, hamstring curls, etc. do not work for me, and I don't want to waste my time buying books that recommend those. Online I've had a hard time finding sites that recommend anything other than the basic exercises I'm already following from the BFL book (squats for quads...surely someone has some other ideas to work these! Same with hamstrings, or triceps...getting tired of dips and overheads!). So, do any of you who workout just at home with dumbells, have any recommendations for books or maybe websites with variations on the exercises? I just really need a change, beyond adding more weight (which I do try to do)! I'm also considering this new bodywedge thing I saw in a magazine at the bookstore. Pretty cool for lunges and some new ab workouts. ----Mandi

Guest guest
Mandi - I just picked up the book " Look Great Naked " by Brad Schoenfeld. I skimmed it and his theory is very similar to Bill regarding nutrition and exercise. But, the reason I bought it is that it has a section for each body area (arms, butt, abs, legs) and pictures of gym and home workouts. There are also very detailed descriptions of what to do and not to do and why. It was informative to me, a 1st time BFL challenger. If you have done many challenges and are well read on exercise science it may be too basic. I'm still going to follow the BFL exercise routine- I just wanted some new ideas for things to do at home. The abs section is GREAT. The website is: www.lookbetternaked.com > I was just at the bookstore looking at books by Joyce Verdral and > wondered if anybody out there had one of her books. Guest guest
Thanks for the book info . I've put it on my Amazon.com wish list. This is my first challenge, but I did BFL a long time ago (got to week 8, hoping to make all 12 and beyond this time!) so I really want to come up with something new and different! ----Mandi
