Guest guest Posted February 4, 2006 Report Posted February 4, 2006 Also keep spreading the word to the farmers that you buy from. This has purposely been set up so that the small local farmers would not find out about it until it was too late (comply today or pay $1000 day fine). So tell your CSA, your beef farmer, your chicken farmer, where you get your raw milk, etc. They might not know about it. Guest guest Posted February 4, 2006 Report Posted February 4, 2006 Is there a brochure or something we can print out with the info to hand to local farmers and such? I fear I could not explain it well enough to them. Guest guest Posted February 4, 2006 Report Posted February 4, 2006 Also what would be expected of me who has a few hens? Would I have to get them chipped too??? I assume yes. So what can we do to stop this craziness? Guest guest Posted February 4, 2006 Report Posted February 4, 2006 That's a great idea. Try www.stopanimalid.org or the other group that some of us are on has some (americans_against_NAIS, group). I will try to check their database, but many of their documents are Word documents and I don't use microsoft applications so I wouldn't be able to read them before I posted them to the group or emailed you. Guest guest Posted February 4, 2006 Report Posted February 4, 2006 Yep you would have to have them chipped (with GPS coordinates) AND all of their movements tracked. So if your new rooster went to visit your neighbor you'd have to report that he left, he came back etc. As far as stopping it... there are people working full time on this. Check out the other groups I referenced. Just so you know the group is high volume (200+ emails a day) and some of it is a waste of good reading time. Lots of bickering, but good things can be gleened from it. Guest guest Posted February 4, 2006 Report Posted February 4, 2006 I'm going to check out the site and see what I find. I do have word so this will be good for me. Thanks. I know I am concerned about this but really do not know what one can do. My hubby and I want to do some hobby farming, (I mean enough naturally raised meats for us and our families) in the future but this would stop us from doing so. I believe it is my right as an American to be able to farm (as well as choose not to vaccinate our children) and I do not want to see this right stripped from us. We have lost enough rights as is! Guest guest Posted February 4, 2006 Report Posted February 4, 2006 Kimi, I don't mind the soap boxes. We did not fight for our rights in this country by keeping our mouths closed and sitting on our hands. You keep right on preachin' it sista'. Guest guest Posted February 4, 2006 Report Posted February 4, 2006 Comply? Hell! They're not forcing me to put computer chips in my organic hens. Not in this lifetime! Guest guest Posted February 5, 2006 Report Posted February 5, 2006 The best article that I have found is at www.countrysidemag.com/current.htm#article4 I have made lots of copies of this to hand out to people. Two excellent websites are nonais.org and stopanimalid.org Someone asked if you had to microchip even if you have one chicken- absolutely yes. This same program has been in effect in England for several years and they have successfully shut down the little guys so everyone has to buy from the big guys. What makes this program so onerous is the paperwork. The big guys get to chip their animals as a flock or group. Unless all of your animals come (bought) and go (sold) as one large group, you will have to chip your animals individually. Reports will be filed within 24 hours everytime an animal gets a chip, anything is done to a chip, gives birth, dies, enters a premises, leaves a premises (yes, that's 2 reports if your goat decides to take a walk over to the neighbor's and back, you have to file 2 reports) This thing is NOT about food safety and biosecurity. If they were really concerned about us, they wouldn't be allowing chickens to be imported from China. This is about control and private property rights, and a few other rights like illegal search and seizure. I certainly hope Americans won't be as compliant at the British and will fight this, at least our farmers and homesteaders can and do own guns, although an awful lot of animals were killed by the g-men during the great depression, although I don't understand why. They even paid the farmers around here to plow under their crops at that same time. I refuse to chip any of my animals. It's none of the government's business what I eat and what I do on my allodial land! Lynn Quote

I don't understand why they would kill perfectly good animals during the depression when people were near starving. suggested that it is harder to control a depression in the economy than an inflation. And that to force the prices of things up during a depression, they might try to make supplies more scarce. I don't understand economics at all. It seems to me to be a bunch of rich people trying to control things. Can anyone explain to me why they would have done that with the crops and cattle during the depression please?? Therese Quote
Guest guest Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 Can anyone explain to me why they would have done that with the crops and cattle during the depression please?? It is our lovely government trying to control. Starving people will turn to the government for help, then the government is in control. Give them food and they think the government is their savor. (This is just my own feeling on this) Hey, I need to know the name of the book that talks about Big Brother. The one that said there would be cameras on every street corner watching our every move? I hope you all know the book I mean. It was written many years ago and so much of what was written is now happening. Guest guest Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 I am not sure, I really have no idea what the name of the book is. I just know it is where the idea of " Big Brother " came from. That is why I was hoping some one here would know. (I'm a lot of help here aren't I??? Maybe it has something to do with the clear liquid diet I am on today and the laxatives. I have a colonoscopy tomorrow) Kimi ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ www.Jremedies.com The reason a dog has so many friends is that he wags his tail instead of his tongue. -Anonymous Re: still more NAIS Kimi, Are you talking about " 1984 " ? Guest guest Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 Hey Kimi, I'll have you know that in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, when riots and looting broke out, our lovely gubmint went door to door collecting weapons from residents EVEN if they had gun permits. How lovely! Only one or two media outlets picked up on this violation of our Second Amendment rights; no one else hardly cared. Outrageous!
