I believe you will get much better and quicker results doing HIIT

like Bill suggests rather than longer cardio at a lower intensity

(and I am assuming here that the intensity is lower).

Your classes will of course burn fat too, but possibly not as

effectively as HIIT will. This is because although HIIT won't burn

as much fat while you are doing it, it will burn fat for up to 8

hours afterwards. Now having said that, a lot of classes are now

designed so that your heart rate goes up, then recover, then up,

recover etc..... much like HIIT does.

If it were me making the decision, I would probably still do my 20

mins HIIT (becuase let's face it, it's ONLY 20 minutes), and do the

classes as extra, since you enjoy them so much. I would do that

because I'm a fussy kind of person and I think if you're doing BFL,

you should do BFL. Of course when I'm out of my own challenge (this

weekend - yay!!) I plan on changing some things around to suit me,

but for this short period of 12 weeks I've done it by the book.

Hi Colleen and thanks for the response

My classes are very very high impact Body Attack classes. I mean

sweat takes on a whole new meaning in this class!

I honestly don't have the time allottment for more than one cardio

workout on the days I do cardio.

So, I think I will try this for a couple of weeks and see what

happens. I need to lose WEIGHT!! My clothes fit better but when I get

on the scale next month at the doctor's office, he is so going to

lecture me! I doubt I will lose 30 lbs in one month but I would be

happy with 10.

I am really watching my portions so I am hoping within the next week

or two I will start to see a difference.

Thanks again.

Are you doing HIIT? I think following HIIT for 1 hour would be a lot. If

you are just doing regular cardio in your classes, then you need to add 20

minutes of HIIT on top of the classes. Interval training is necessary for

burning

fat all day instead of just when you are working out.
