Guest guest
This has come up before, but the creatine serum is a scam. Creatine is totally unstable in liquid form. Bill first published independent lab tests of the serum in Muscle Media. It showed that there was less than one gram of creatine in the *whole bottle*. AST has also had the serum analyzed. They tested several different lot #s and came to the same conclusion - barely any usable creatine in the bottle, and lots of the waste product that occurs when creatine breaks down (like when you put it in liquid). It didn't do anything though. Sure it didn't upset my stomach (because there's no creatine it!), but it also didn't give me any of the strength and muscle gains that I'd gotten from the powder. I've had great results with Betagen, and also with plain micronized powder (I like HDT brand). The micronized is very fine. It dissolves better than Betagen and doesn't upset my stomach. If you got the serum at someplace like GNC you can probably get a refund, or at least store credit. Most of them have very flexible return policies. Hope that helps you out. I always feel like a big party pooper when I post this. People deserve to know what they're taking though. ATP Creatine Serum Ladies, I just ordered ATP creatine serum. I've never used creatine, so I'll let you other creatine newbies how it goes. I have 3 weeks left on c 1. The serum is supposed to be faster acting than powder and it's much cheaper. We'll see! Guest guest
I forgot the ConsumerLab link: http://consumerlab.com/results/creatine.asp It says: Both liquid products failed. One contained less than 1% of the claimed amount of creatine and actually contained more creatinine contaminant than creatine. In addition, it did not follow FDA labeling requirements, including making the unapproved claim " BUILDS LEAN MUSCLE MASS " . The other liquid product was also contaminated with creatinine and contained less than 95% of its claimed creatine. Both products also suggested unusually low doses of creatine (1,000 and 2,000 mg, respectively, rather than the standard 5,000 mg to 20,000 mg). Guest guest
Crappy. I guess you get what you pay for. Well, there's 23 bucks down the toilet. Thanks for the info anyway. > I forgot the ConsumerLab link: > http://consumerlab.com/results/creatine.asp > > It says: > > Both liquid products failed. Guest guest
You still may want to try some plain powdered creatine or some Betagen. It's always kind of iffy to add something new in the last couple of weeks before pictures, but you're already lean enough that you might see a really dramatic change in the shape of your muscles with a little creatine (like 2g a day post-workout) and a lot of water (at least a gallon a day). You'd probably want to stop the creatine 3 days before the pictures so that if it causes any bloating it would be gone for your after shots. Guest guest
After skwigg sent a response about the creatine serum, I visited several supplement testing websites (don't ask me why I didn't do this BEFORE I bought a bottle, I guess I assumed companies don't outright LIE about their products). Anyway, The stuff is reported to be completely useless and the claims made by the company are neither scientifically based or true. Anyway, for those of you who have used creatine, what did you use and in what doses? It is so confusing - take every day or just on weight days, several times a day or once? Straight creatine or a mix like betagen (or a less expensive mix that I don't know about). > This has come up before, but the creatine serum is a scam. Creatine is totally > unstable in liquid form.
