Guest guest
hi everyone! ive been pretty quiet while i deal with this pain ache. im happy to say though that im feeling much better now! i can walk and bend over! yay! LOL. i still get a jab of pain once in a while and i do not have full range of motion in my back yet (pelvic tucks are painful, for example), but im very happy that i seem to be recovering so quickly. i would really like to workout, but im afraid of jumping in too soon and aggravating the injury. so my plan is to start out with very light cardio and a stretch on saturday or sunday. then i will stick with those activities for another week before i start back in on my regular schedule. anyway, the purpose of this message is to say that i bought some new stuff today. it is all donna's fault... it was she who told me that being injured is a good time to buy workout videos...LOL!!! just kidding donna...heh heh! so i picked up two new dvds.... 'shape toning' with michelle dozois and lisa wheeler. this one is getting some good reviews and there seems to be a workout randomizer feature on the dvd which im interesting in using. secondly, i bought stott pilates 'the secret to weight loss vol. 1' which is described as 'walking pilates'... this one looks to be a beginner workout, hopefully it isnt toooo easy and will be good for me to do while my back continues to recover. but the purchase that im most excited about is a new rebounder!!! i couldnt afford to go all out and buy a really expensive one... and the cheapo model look too small and not built well... so i found one that i consider to be 'middle of the road' AND it was on sale, so i couldnt resist. i bought it at a local sports store. it is going to be hard to get away from the kids though.... they will be excited about it when they get home from school in an hour, so i had better get busy and set it up. my dh was home when i brought it in and he asked me how much it cost! ugh! he thought it would be around $100, and it was cheaper than that so he didnt say anything else about it, thankfully. im hoping that it will be ok for me to rebound a bit with this back thing.... what do you think? also, do you think that i need rebounder-specific workouts to do? i was expecting to just bounce on it at first, and then use my regular cardio dvds with it. but i dont really know anything about the different bounces or whatever. is there a place online that explains that? :*carolyn.
