Hi Nura

IMO it's worth trying the listening programme, however I would not pay the

$1,000 + that it might cost unless you are rich.

Facial tics was one of the things to be aware of as a side affect I don't think

it will help them.

We got ours through an OT who was able to get it through an Autism funding

package here in Australia.

I don't know the availability of it in Europe.

Regards

Kenny

Hi Nura,I have bought a set of The Listening Program CDs off ebay! We are going to start it this holiday. We are being overseen by an OT at Hemispheres in Surrey. They do not provide the equipment though. Sue From: k.ozbo <k.ozbo@...> Autism Treatment Sent: Thursday, 29 March 2012, 22:59 Subject:

Nura

facial tics can be a sign of stress/ anxiety first you have to get to the bottom or what is the cause of the stress, but one of the answers can be the auditory system especially if your child also has the retention of the moro reflex ( child being startled when hearing unexpected sounds), a good OT should be able to do the tests on your child to determine that.

The nhs OT's are starting to have listening programmes available but a good private OT does have them as well,There various schemes depending on you financial possibilities but some cheap solution is to rent the equipment and cd's.

The sensory smart in surrey has a rental scheme that costs £10 or £15 pounds a month for equipment + CD's you also pay £60 for an assessment of your child.
