The old International Museum of the Perfumery is a must...the factories of

Fragonard, Galimard, and Molinard are good choices. Some have classes you

can take. Go online and search first. Some things are closed on Monday

and Tuesday. You are in off season now so really check for times and days

before you plan.. July to Sept there is a little train that takes you to the

Medieval city tour of Grasse. It may be still be on not sure...Art and

history museum might be beneficial also. There is a tourist office. Go

online and search France and Grasse and you will come up with some good

stuff. Prices on hotels are cheaper off season. Also colder, more

windy,,Thank you Mistral, and it could rain. Lovely place..........

I go there in the summer usually...

Have fun.

Hi Indigo,

Also, be prepared to do " hiking uphill " , as the town has really

grown, and is now quite spread out. But if you stay somewhere near

the Musee International, it's a fairly easy walk to Molinard.

Fragonard's tour will, of course, drop you at their shop at the end,

with a hard sell. If you take any classes at Galimard, they will

probably be in French. If you request, you may be able to get

someone to speak English, but it won't be their " nose " . Also, they

steer you into a more limited number of choices when putting your own

fragrance together. You would be working right next to someone else's

organ--so it is hard to keep your own scents' " airspace " sort of

isolated from the person next to you. Molinard, on the other hand, is

the opposite. Freedom to choose, fresh air from the open window,

lots of space and time to enjoy doing what you're doing. I enjoyed

my work there much more.

Don't expect any of these 3 to work with " all natural " ingredients

but, well, you ARE enjoying one of the perfume centers in all the

world. We're all envious!

Enjoy your trip!
