Hi Shirley! You are never alone! We're all here with ya! Post anytime...no

post/vent/concern/fear/comment too long or short. Take care of yourself and be

careful! We got pounded good here in NC from Gaston hoping Frances is nicer to

us lol!

Shirley,

That can be really upsetting to not get any responses. Although there are a lot of people here that are too ill to answer, I'm sure they sympathize. There is always someone around here if you need us. If you do drive the truck, be careful! I've driven one of those big ones once, and the wind was really something to contend with. (and it wasn't all that windy!) I'm still not really sure if I have endo myself or not yet. They did a lap, but the doc said it was "inconclusive". That is what I get for being the last surgery on his long day. I wasn't having much pain until this last period. I was told I had a cervical infection at the same time, so that may have been part of it. There are some people on this list that have endo. I hope today finds you in a better spot pain-wise.

Hugs,

welcomes -- Helen's question about the hurricane

Thanks again to all of you for the welcomes and responses to my query regarding doctors. I had a really bad pain weekend and wrote a rather long post to an endo support group which has received absolutely no response. If it wasn't for the warm welcome here I would be feeling very alone right now. Thanks for the welcome Helen. We got quite a bit of rain Saturday and Sunday but nothing serious from Gaston. I am more worried about Frances. I had planned to take the train to Orlando on Friday. Most of my belongings are in a storage unit there. The plan is to load them onto a moving truck on Saturday and drive back to North Carolina on Sunday. Trying to decide if that is going to be possible or not based on storm track predictions. Dealing with lifting and driving will be a challenge under good circumstances; not sure about trying to drive a 25ft truck through really bad weather.Shirley~~~~ *** ~~~ *** ~~~ *** ~~~~ The Being Sick CommunityMessage Archives-/messagesChat:- Scheduled Chats at /chatBookmarks:-Add a website URL you have found useful./links Personal Complaints or problems:-Please contact a moderator email: -owner Subscription Details:-1) Individual email - means that every email sent to the list you receive.2) Daily Digest - sends you 25 messages in one single email for you to browse. I am safe and sound in NC although mentally I am with the folks I care about down in Florida. I have spent most of the last couple of days reading the webpages of Orlando television stations and the newspaper down there.

I debated whether or not to try the trip up until late Wednesday afternoon before I finally gave in and unmade the plans. Even if I wouldn't have made that decision it would have been made for me; Amtrak cancelled the Friday train down to Florida. In addition all my helpers for loading the moving truck had to evacuate (as did the person I would have stayed with). I am going to have to make do for a few more weeks until our fall break. That is assuming that I still have stuff to go get; if not, I'll find out how good my State Farm insurance is. While l would have really like to get my stuff the upside to the delay is that I'll have one more day to visit folks when I go down later.

Since I had already canceled classes for Friday, I am taking advantage of the quiet 4 day weekend to rest and take it easy and do some grading and lesson plan preparations. The extra rest has helped the fatigue quite a bit. Being less tired has allowed me to email and call people and devote a little more energy to feeling connected to other people via phone calls, emails and such. Feeling alone was as much of the problem as hurting last weekend and that is much better this weekend.
