Guest guest
Welcome back !!! I Knew it!!! Now take your medicine like a good young man and recuperate!!! I's thinks the medicine was already working ) Please keep us updated as how you are doing... You do keep me on my toes... ((( Coughless Hugs ))) Helen Shhh, 's sleeping a good sleep finally ) HelloWent to the Doctor today about all the coughing and breathing issues. Apparently I'm well on my way to another bout of pneumonia. He's prescribed antibiotics and Hydrocodone/Homatropine syrup. While I was taking my teaspoonful at bedtime (apparently it's supposed to knock me out), I started thinking, I've always taken medicine by regular teaspoons, heaven only knows if these spoons are actually a teaspoon sized spoon. Isn't it strange that we are so careful to use a measuring spoon in cooking to ensure that it is a teaspoonful but when it comes to medicine, in this case a narcotic, we use an arbitrary uncalibrated spoon that we would never relie on for measuring anything else. As long as I can remember, I've always used a common spoon for medicine that I would not trust to measure anything else except sugar for my coffee (or these days, sugar substitute).Oh well, as long as I can get some sleep on this stuff...Whoa, I think it's starting to kick in...Regards, "A very important part of the joy of living is the joy of giving." - Buck Surnames I am following:Mc Intosh/Mac Intosh/MackIntosh -- Lambert -- Sweeny --Osterhout -- Spring -- Fauver -- Tilden -- Handy -- Haller -- Leininger -- Beckham -- Godden -- Brown -- -- Barbara -- Losure -- Spade -- Ferris -- -- Chroninger/Croninger -- Myles -- Weirich -- Shonk -- Inches -- Burditt -- 's -- Frosch/Frozeck -- Turrittin -- Proudfoot/Stoltzfuss -- Mattocks -- Oliver -- Pethangelbear1129@.. Guest guest
, I will use a regular spoon in a crunch, (or being a real kook,errr..I mean cook.. I just eyeball it and take a swig, but I don't recommend it) I've noticed that too. Also, many people don't pay attention to what is in over the counter medicines and herbals....they can interact with each other, sometimes with horrific consequences. Did you know you can take Vicodin and Advil together, but not Vicodin and Tylenol? Cold medicines contain a pain reliever (most of the time) as well. Need to be a pharmacist just to treat a cold! a teaspoonful at bedtime Hello Went to the Doctor today about all the coughing and breathing issues. Guest guest
Hello From what I've read, Tylenol would increase the euphoric narcotic effects of Hydrocodone (Vicodin) hence the prohibition against taking them together. Also from what I understand, the problem is the kids who do abuse prescription drugs tend to overdose themselves. A lot of people are surprised when I tell them to never take Tylenol when they have been drinking. The information about the interactions is out there and probably also in the various inserts but very few people bother to even look. The herbal treatments are particularly scary because you're never sure about the actual strength of the active ingredients. Then there's Coricidan Cough and Cold. I take that quite often because it doesn't affect my blood pressure but I can really see people getting a buzz off that stuff. I try to stay away from products that combine drugs, I figure that if I really want a painkiller, I would take one, I shouldn't have it in my cough syrup. Mind you, this Hydrocodone is darn effective at suppressing coughs, too bad I can't take it during the day (it's darn effective at suppressing consciousness as well). Even though there is a lot of abuse, I don't believe restrictions are the answer, that just prevents those of us who need the meds to be able to get them. If people are going to be stupid, they'll still be stupid. Regards, Don & wrote: >, > >I will use a regular spoon in a crunch, (or being a real kook,errr..I >mean cook..
