Whoops -- hit return without my reply included -- no, I don't think there

is a heather oil or absolute. I've only seen it as a FO.

Hi

I have never found a heather oil or absolute either,

I use an infused oil from a UK company.

I work as an Aromatherapist and I use it in blends and creams etc for its

analgesic properties, great for arthritic knees and tired legs.

It does not have any particular fragrance.

Yeah, ok - that confirms my experience with heather plant. I was all

over Scotland in June of 2002 - hiking off trail etc. Saw all kinds

of heather, smelled it, picked it, never noticed it had a floral, or

otherwise aromatic scent. To be fair, I think it blooms in sept. or

so, so I didn't experiece that. But I remember thinking at the time

why are there so many heather-esque fragrances out there? Maybe it's

a romantic notion.... Maybe people really want to have a

scottish/celtic identity scent?

I have a dried sprig I took away from Culloden Moor - I'll go revisit

it and see if that dried old twig has any smell left.
