Kaffir Lime Leaves

An extension of my loving scent is of course, smelling aromas while I cook.

My favorite shrimp curry at the moment is full of fresh kaffir lime leaves

which I have a very hard time finding and fresh organic tumeric. Yummy .Yummy.

I love kaffir limes both what is does to food and just tasting it plain and

smelling it.

Boy, are you lucky that you have it in your garden. Is it like a key

lime ?

Does it produce fruit?

The leaves are quite a bit smaller than a regular lemon.

Where does one find EO of kaffir lime?

It is so much fun to be participating in a group that loves natural perfumery

and more.

Not like a key lime at all. The fruit is deeply wrinkled, hence the

nickname " brain fruit " . It is very bitter, rather juiceless and rarely used

in cooking.

I got my sample from camdengey.com. don't know if they still carry it. I

looked up the name - combava. You could do a google search. A little goes a

long way, so only purchase a small amount.

Hi all,

I just wanted to add that as a newbie both to perfunmery and to this group I am

greatful for all the information put forth here. I have some combava petigrain

but I did not know it came from the kaffir lime. I think that is important for

me to know!

Also, I made my first perfume last week and am having a great time with it!

lime questions.

One more question does anyone know where to buy a Kaffir Lime Tree? And

one more, is there a site that sell Indonesian fresh produce? I am

looking for some special rhizomes that are used in Indonesian Food.
