I have hypothyroidism.mitral valve prolapse, menieres disease, and a few other misc. illnesses. Some still undiagnosed. I am glad that you joined us! I look forward to getting to know you. It sounds like you son is a fighter and stubborn.LOL I give him much praise for going up and down the stairs as he does. I hope you do not have to wait too long on his results as I know the waiting can be so nerve racking. Here is a link with some very good info on Transverse Myelitis http://www.myelitis.org/tm.htm I hope you find it useful! -- New Member - Waiting Hi, My name is Libby and my 21 year old son and I are waiting for a diagnosis. He spent a week in the hospital with tests and will get the results of the spinal tap next week. Our neurologist has given us the possibility of MS, transverse myelitis, or a tumor. He has a lot of numbness and tightness, but so far is still able to walk, though he tires very easily. I came to today to look for support groups. We are leaning toward TM from what Will and I have read and the symptoms that he has. I will let eveyone know as soon as we hear. No matter what the diagnosis, Will has a long road ahead of him. Currently his bedroom is upstairs and he is able to go up and down sitting on the steps. I have offered to move his room downstairs, but for now he wants things to stay as they are. He is looking toward taking the fall semester off school to give him more time to gain his strength back. Anyway, glad to find this group here and I look forward to getting to know everyone better.
