Hi Roxana, thanks for the raspberry seed oil idea. I just ordered

some to try.

I am actually trying to figure out how to achieve a peach note. Any

thoughts???

This is a tricky one, but there are some notes that are fruity such

as cassis (black currant buds absolute) tomar seed (xantoxylum),

champaca, magnolia, certain roses, honey absolute, marigold, Roman

chamomile, and so on. In comobination with citruses and with the

right ratios, the result will be fruity, though not exactly like any

specific fruit such as peach or apple...

Also, there are certain fruit extracts taht can be successfully used

in a perfume and not " get lost " in the strong and tenacious absolutes

and essential oils. One of them is Apricot extract. Donna Groom from

this groups sent me a sample a while ago, which I really liked. I

don't know where you can find it though...

Also, by experimenting with the various sweet and fruity and gourmand

notes, you may " get lucky " and end up with a forumla that resembles a

specific fruit. It happened to me with Fedjoia. Also, in the same way

of experimenting, I achieved a note that was like pink bubble gum and

citrus candy - very fruity and mouthwatering...

Hope that helped!

Good luck,

I can try it minus the bitter almond oil. I tried to order that but

was told I needed to go through some sort of FDA paperwork process??

I thought it was kind of strange since it was FFPA and presumably

non-toxic. I have it on my list to check other vendors or go through

the process.

I was also going through the Booth book and she has a formula

called Nectar that's various citruses and some frankincense I will

try as well...

My understanding is that one can obtain bitter almond EO that's had

the prussic acid removed, in which case the paperwork might not be

necessary. You could also just get some benzaldehyde which has the

same scent if I'm not mistaken. I'm sure someone else would know for

sure, but benzaldehyde is the compound that makes bitter almond

so 'almondy'...

Davana is wonderfully fruity, FWIW, and galbanum is a worthwhile

investment for its challenging nature ;) Petitgrain wouldn't be the

same though you'd get something refreshing no doubt. Galbanum is

that wonderfully green top in Must de Cartier, and in Dune. Jasmine

sambac will also add a fruity element to a blend.

I have some Davana around but have never quite figured out what to

do with it. It is very strange to my nose. I don't think I've ever

smelled it in any blend, so I'm not finding a context for it. What

do you blend it with?

I have been experimenting with Jasmine sambac a bit. I've used it in

a couple of floral spice blends. I wouldn't have thought of it as a

fruit note but that's an interesting idea to try. Thanks -OxR
