I know to forget it and get right back on the wagon. Sometimes it's so hard. Mt. Dew is calling my name. I can't fall back into that same routine again. I need to pick up my momentum and drive again. ok, i just needed to vent. any words of encouragement would really help. Guest guest
hi kenya, hang in there. i have a similar addiction to coke. i can drink it like water. when i DO have one, i gulp it down and quickly reach for more. however, in the last 12 days, i've only had one diet coke and not even a quarter of a glass of coke. the reason for this is that i've cut out all sugar and cut down carbs to only healthy carbs, if that. if i can not drink coke, you can not drink mountain dew. what my suggestion for you is to take all of the mountain dew out of your house and quit drinking it cold turkey. drink water as if you're trying to drown yourself. the more water you drink, the more you want. after a while, your body will be so well hydrated that you won't crave for other liquids. because mountain dew is such a trigger for you, you may consider not even drinking it on your free days-- just so you won't be craving it during the rest of the wekk. you're stronger than you know and you can beat this if you really want to. i hope you don't mind my suggesting that, but i know how you feel and am taking the fact that you're saying you're slipping very seriously. i've been reading some of the back posts (mostly renee's because they're packed full of information) and read where a member (mina) said that every single time she felt down or like she was slipping, her husband would hold her for a time and say " now eat clean, and go get ready for the gym " . this is what i keep telling myself these days. that if i want to look the way i want to and get to where i want to be all i have to do is eat clean and go to the gym. i'll do it for me and you do it for you. regards and good luck, lia
Guest guest
you know that scene in Friends where rachel and monica are fighting, while pheobe is standing by trying to stop them? She gets mad and yells " i'm gonna kick some ass! " then grabs them by the ears. When I read your post, pheobe's voice popped into my head saying that then...hehehe > way to go, kenya! ...now go get ready to go to the gym, lol > > > > lia, who actually IS leaving for the gym. late cardio and abs > workout. four-hour fast prior and getting ready to KICK SOME ASS. > wish me well! Guest guest
You can do this! Whenever I start to feel tempted, it really helps me to look at the photos for this group. The after photos are *very* inspirational. I also like to look at the photos in the book. If you keep on for long enough, it'll become second nature. Just keep yourself busy, and, as others have said, drink *lots* of water. We're here for you! Kat > I'm slipping guys and i don't want to. I need to do this. I am > gonna do this.
