Of course, most crock-pots (AKA " slow cookers " ) don't use flame at all and never

really get

very hot! Still, caution is definitely advised when alcohol is involved - this

could be a

dangerous experiment.

As far as flammability goes, there is a cut-off. I believe it's around 50%.

Solutions weaker

than this (i.e., less than 100 proof) should be safe. I am not confident in the

50% number,

by the way... I know it's around there, though!

It's possible that if a weaker alcohol solution (say 80 proof?) were used in a

slow-cooker

type crock-pot, this could be relatively safe.
