BFL and PMS

I am just wondering how everyone else deals with PMS. I have been really

struggling this week to stay on my diet. Not because I am tired of the foods

but

because I am starving. I am due to have my period in a few days and I think

this is why I am having this problem. I have been doing BFL for over a year

with great success. I only have a few more pounds to lose and would really

like to push myself to lose it during January, Febuary and March because there

not much going on and it is the best time to really concentrate. I am just

surprised by how much I have been struggling this week. The first 6 months

(when

I lost most of my weight) that I did BFL, I don't have much recollection of

having trouble sticking to the program before my period. I do remember that I

would eat red meat during this time and that helped. I have tryed that this

week and it hasn't helped. How does everyone else deal with PMS? and does

anyone have any suggestions? This is a lifetime venture for me and I would

really

like to learn how to deal with this without being miserable for a week every

month. I have been going thru this for six months and in the past I would just

cheat for a couple of days. I want to stick to the diet during this time.

Thank you in advance for everyone's help!

Hey -

I have a question for you - are you on birth control? Do you have kids? If

not are you planning on having any, and if you do, do you plan on having any

more? Reason I ask this is because I'm on the birth control shot - Depo

Provera. I get a shot in the hip once every 3 months. This form of birth

control has completely stopped my periods. I was on it before I had my

first child and when we wanted to start our family it took a long time to

get it out of my system. A year, in fact to actually get pregnant from the

last time I had a shot.

So what I'm saying is that I don't recommend this form of BC if you're

planning to have a child in the future because of the time it takes to get

off of it, but if you're done with pregnancies (like I am) then it might be

an option to talk to your doctor about. I spot every once in a while, but

that's it. No periods, no PMS, no nothing. AND for some reason, since it's

an office visit my insurance pays for the whole thing, so no cost either!

And I was on it when I first started BFL last summer, and I was able to lose

size just fine, so any rumors that it makes you gain weight are not true,

for me anyway.

As others might say - just my two cents...

no, I had my tubes tied after my third child.

Thank you, I guess that explains my hunger. That's probably why the red meat

helped me before (higher fat). Any excuse to eat chocolate is good for me!!

(as long as I can get myself to stop after just one)

I had done that over the last 6 months but have not lost very much weight. I

want to go back down to smaller portion sizes and try to get off these last

few pounds. I probably need to start keeping track of what I am eating. That

just seems so anal to me, when I already am skinny. I think I am having a

hard time seeing myself as skinny, but the fact is that I am and I need to come

to grips with that.

I always forget to take my Udo's oil. I need to take it everyday. I eat

natural peanut butter every couple of days. I think sometimes I don't get enough

fat and need to work on that.

Yes, I do need to. I have been changing my mentality about it, but my

husband and I have called it dieting for so long it is hard to change. And my

kids

are always talking about it being a diet. To me it is a way of life. I can't

wait to get the book. I refuse to pay full price for it so I am waiting

until it shows up at Sam's Club. I freind has offered to lend it to me, so I

might borrow it.

Thanks for your help!
