Re: Maximum Results--More Mental

Hey Piano,

I read through what other members have written and they are

incredible and I thought I would add some of the " mental " powerhouses

that I have used and what others have written or suggested:

I try not to go by what others have reaped in results (very hard to

do) as I realize that everybody's body is different and fat

distribution is different. My results have to be my results so I

compare them to mine...if I compare them to others I can get very

defeated...even if I am doing everything 100% correct.

I act the part. When I mentally see and act like I am a muscled

animal, my actions and reactions are sooooo different that a woman

that needs to lose 15 pounds of bodyfat and who I see as

not " perfect " or healthy. I put myself in the mind set that I am a

walking, talking, lifting BFL indivudal and I swear everything seems

to gel into doing and eating the right thing. Tom Venuto wrote a

piece on this and I am a firm believer or acting out the part and

visualizing the goal now. Mina also talks about this and I think it

is very, very true. I have the same results in self defense training

and martial arts...my training and results in simulated combat are so

much more impressive than when I do not think out the part of being

capabal eof using my body against a 235 pound muscle mound goon that

I spar/train against.

Take each day a a day. One day if you mess up, get back on track it

was only a day. One day if you trained and ate perfectly, do it

again tomorrow.

Consistancy. In eating and training...that is the ticket of the long

haul.

Don't give up mid week or month. My results on my first Challenge

came late in the challenge and it seemed that I lost 2 sizes over

night and inches over a weekend. Poof! Some people see immediate

results, so don't. Mine happened around week 8/9/10.

Think of this as a way of life, not a diet or program. Not

necessarily staying on BFL, but eating and drinking water and

training that is healthy for the body...just a lifestyle that you

incorporate as yours...

Read and ingest all the good BFL info, articles, photos, links,

Blogs, whatever and just educate yourself to it all. Read

everything...make computer files...ask questions...I have a " Skwigg "

file with her suggestions and some questions I asked specific to my

program...just be an information hound...kinda like what you are

doing now! GREAT! :)

And finally, stay away from Ben & Jerry's and don't move to the State

of Vermont. They have the stuff in Mobil stations and hardware

stores and every place in between... :)

Good luck...

Blue ruffian,

This is great. I think the advice of picturing myself as a BFL

muscle woman is going to really help a lot. I love the advice I am

getting and it has already helped. I have copied and highlighted it

and read it to keep me inspired.

What is a blog? You are the second person to mention it.

What??? Give up Ben and Jerry, they are my 2 favorite men! *kidding*

Being a Vermonter, I feel compelled to reply to the advice to avoid

Vermont and Ben and Jerry's! You're safe with our friends Ben and

Jerry during this time of year-it's too darned cold to eat ice cream!

And we'll all be looking so good by this summer that we won't want to

go near ice cream (well, maybe on our free days!)

One additional mental state that is similar to one mentioned below

that I find helpful. Picture in your head how you think the most

gorgeous, fit woman in the world feels and acts throughout the day.

Now-YOU act like that woman. Be as self confident and happy and witty

as that most gorgeous woman in the world-because you are that woman!

Try this for just one day and it IS amazing how good you'll feel-I

agree-it works.
