Guest guest
Helen, We have been getting drenched since Wednesday night( its now early Friday morning) & we have on thrursday alone been through flood watches flood warnings & like 5 FLASH flood warnings & we live just south of the city which was the worst place being hit (apparently 2 fronts met right over us lol) They had several tornado watches out but alot of what we ourselves had was just BUTTLOADS of rain & high winds... Matter of fact another bout of wind just kicked up about 2 hours ago (yet more rain on its way) & we are currently under yet ANOTHER flash flood warning til 6:30 am (Its 2:42 here now). No Tornados for us though (thankfully) We have gotten about 4 inches from Wed night to Thurs night & they were expecting another like 3-4 inches overnight which doesn't sound like alot but IT IS lol when you consider the way they are measuring it is on a level surface & the water isn't running downhill from anywhere lol. The lake (Longview Lake) out by our house has long since flooded its banks & a couple places it was over the road lol. The roads here are a disaster area... all the potholes they have patched since we had the LAST flood in 1994 all of them now need to be patched again because it rained so hard it washed all the tar & gravel out they they used to fill the potholes. The potholes are causing alot of accidents though because when you have a deep hole & fill it with water you don't know how deep it is & when they drive through it & it pops a tire or you break an axel on your car etc. then of course you ahve the stupid drivers who drive like its a wonderful summer day lol I heard there was one water rescue they hasd to do because a woman tried driving through water & got stuck & that was at like 4PM Thursday afternoon when that happened & its been raining since... we went out rented movies & didnt even bother with the news tonight... we just spent family night... kind of just got entertainment to wait out the rain Doriangelbear1129@... wrote: Hi Dori, Did you get any of that wind today???
