Guest guest
Larry, 2-5 Hz is the " standard " slow inhibit band I teach because it picks up all slow activity from the effective bottom of Delta (below 2Hz is usually considered artifact in a waking adult) through low Theta--theta from the thalamic pacemakers. It includes 3 and 5 Hz, which are both problematic in waking brains, and it leaves out high theta, including 7Hz hippocampal theta, which is often related to memory processing. I've used 2-6 in the past as well as the Othmers' and Lubar/Berger definitions. I don't know that there's a huge difference between them, but 2-5 or 2-6 seem safe. Yet BioExplorer Design Objects default to 4-8 for Theta, and the Othmers use 3-7. Thoughts by Pete or anyone on the rationales for these different choices? ce PhD 155 E 38, #2C / NYC 10016 212 697 5990 llewis@...
