Guest guest
: To start a school program we did several pilot programs with 6-8 students each, lasting one semester each. We started training doing thirty minutes sessions, twice a week, but did not get the expected outcomes in one semester. When we did training four times a week and we often got the expected results in one semester. Working in a school setting and doing training 4-5 times per week is not impractical. We have been doing a school program for many years now and train most of the students four times per week. However, when working in a clinical setting, money becomes more of a issue. Clients are generally able to pay for services out of pocket if they are spaced out on a 1-2 times per week basis but desired outcomes take longer. If they want quicker outcomes then the client needs to train 3-4 times per week. Due to recent financial cutbacks, the school district cut back to one computer system and wanted to cut training time from 30 to 20 minutes. In our effort to do this and include the Brain Builder program success is slower, but it is hard to compare because we are using a different EEG training hardware, interhemispheric training, and we are not using QEEG guided programs. Less has not been more in our case. I continue to be an advocate of training 30 to 40 minutes and using QEEG guided training though that has not alway been successful it has been IMO quicker and more effective. I am still undecided about using the Brain Builder program as a task during training. I will share more on this later. Guest guest
J.D., Please share more when you can. Do you have any published data? Who is funding? Very interesting, I would like to know more. Guest guest
Pete ! Probably about you forgot me! ( plate! ). Somebody can confirm following opinion: Probably - prof. B. Sterman affirms, that intensification of session has substance, If among sessions was dream or 30 one-minute - nap. At such ascertainment, sensible are sessions executed 1 once daily, and less sensible: 2-4 sessions daily, if was not there nap between sessions. Can somebody to comment above - revelations ? Jan j. Studio EEG-Biofeedback.Poland. Pete ! A question about timing of sessions Hi all,I am currently working with someone who is getting great results with twice a week sessions. He asked me if 3 times a week would get him to his goals faster, or does his brain need a certain amount of time between sessions to make its changes. What have others found? Is there any research on this? I know that some people, such as the Othmers, will have more than one session a day with people who have travelled long distances to see them. That suggests that more frequent sessions can work, but is it optimal. Any input would be appreciated! Thanks, Hiatt, Ph.D.McLean, VA
Guest guest
Jan, I did not forget you. I missed seeing you in Europe, but I hope all is well with you. I'm not sure I understand your comment. I think your translation software is translating from Polish into some language not exactly English. I think you are saying that Sterman believes that greater training intensity (more frequent sessions) has a positive impact. There are some people who believe this and others who do not. I don't see in your e-mail any reference to Sterman's reason for believing this. I wrote that I don't know of anyone who has actually tested outcomes comparing the two options. I still don't know of anything other than opinion on this question.
