Hi Hank,

Real Arcade has a few virtual jigsaw puzzle 'games " where a puzzle solver

can select, modify #pieces, shapes, rotations etc of either pre-made

pictures from the program or one's own pictures turned into a puzzle. I

have just started demonstrating it to some of my NF trainees as a means of

working on cognitive and spatial skills in a virtual world as well as having

the satisfaction of putting together pictures of interest. The game is not

driven by NF software, but the activity can be monitored as a trainee

manipulates the pieces and puts the puzzle together.

I am thinking it could be of value as an enjoyable pastime that has

measurable " effects for home trainees or clinic trainees, and to show some

information on an individual basis of the brain arousal, attention and

integration processes over repeated practices.

If anyone does use or try this, I'd be interested in comparing observations

on #pieces that are achievable to complete the puzzles (so far between 24-30

seems the right challenge for the few I've worked with), whether mouse

movement is a big artifact interference (not so I've seen so far and one

instance of an excited jump in a chair was easily identified), etc.

Thanks,

AA

We have been using something like that with the J and J program USE3 which

puts together pieces of a picture as a reward. We can use comic figures for

kids, art work for adults and nearly naked women for teenage boys, or

actually any picture that can be scanned and put into bitmap form.

However I don't know if that is what you meant by jigsaw puzzle.
