Guest guest
Hi, Finally, I got my 11 year old to really try during a training session. He really reduced the theta. But today he is frustrated, crying, picking on his sister. I was doing F3/A1/g/A2/F4 down 2-5 on both sides and down 14-17 on the right side to correct a beta reversal. The 2-5 really came down when he " tried. " The 14-17 didn't really go down so the ratio of theta to beta actually went up. Could this cause the reaction? The beta surfaced when the theta went down? When training he has about 7 uV of beta and 15-20 uV of theta. He is a filtering/processing case with high theta all over. Thanks, Lynn
Guest guest
Lynn, I'm more inclined to do a windowed squash (window 8-15 on R or 12-18 on L), and I'd also try the sides independently. For example, Fp2 (or F4) and F8, both referenced to A2; or same thing on the left side. I don't do much whole frontal training any more, and I like the windowed squash better than squishes and overall squashes. Guest guest
Maureen, Too often when I trained across the whole forehead (and others reported this as well), I'd end up with undesired effects. That's a pretty broad and multi-functional area, the pre-frontal cortex. So no I'm more inclined to do a squash (reducing all frequencies) or windowed squash somewhere from the midline (either Fpz or Fz) to the left, over as far as F7 or to the right as far as F8. I think anecdotally that I get best results with the windowed squash. I've also had some good luck with training something like F3 and C3 if both are somewhat alike in terms of slow activity. Guest guest
Pete, I am working the same issues and same area as Lynn. I am also using the window 12-18 on R at sites Fz and F3 (will try fp1). I’ve seen gradual increase in beta, but theta and Delta activity is still very high and is increasing slightly, when I consider the mean amplitudes. Theta/beta ratio is hovering in the 1.8 range EO. What I am wondering is - (1) should there be excessive delta activity when EO? (2) I’ve only done 4 window sessions EO, should I expect to see the non-window (2-5, 19-38) decrease – ‘cause its not?
