JJ,

Certainly if you are planning to do home training at some point, it would make sense to verify that the trainer you select supports that option and would be willing to prepare you for it.

The LENS system, developed by Len Ochs, is based on feeding tiny pulses of electromagnetic energy back down the same electrodes you have on your head, which are carrying information to the machine from your brain. The software figures out an optimal "offset" rate for each client. If your brain has a dominant frequency (strongest signal at that frequency) of, say 9Hz, and the "optimal offset" is 2Hz, the the pulses would be sent back at 9-2 or 9+2 Hz (7 or 11). Supposedly the brain recognizes that these signals (which Len says are about the magnitude of the energy you are receiving from the light bulb in your training room) are related to its activity, and it changes in response to them.

ROSHI is another option for those interested in fairly sophisticated systems which attempt to "nudge" the EEG using light or sound or pulses of some other sort based on the client's brain activity.

People buy all of these machines. People believe all of them work. The smaller the number of people who buy a particular technology, the higher the cost must be. All of the ones you are asking about are more costly than a good 2-channel neurofeedback trainer. I can't speak to whether they work better or not. I also don't have much of a sense of whether they can be used at home (HEG can).

Sounds like you're having fun researching the options. Good luck with it.

Len Ochs Machine

If you work with someone and do say 20 or more sessions and then get a home device do you have your practicioner train you on how to use a home device that you may buy?

I heard of Len Ochs work and looked at his site.

It seems like Len Ochs machine uses some kind of energy with the feedback?(I don't understand this) is it suppose to be better does anyone else make these kinds of machines?

To make it easier to understand is Len Ochs machine the energy like using a light and sound machine with biofeedback. Is the energy spoken of light??.

Is it like some of the feedback( the energy as descibed on the website) is light from a light device?I could not quite figure it out.In simple terms is this correct?

How does the Roshi device work?Does it work similar and along the same principals as Mr.Len Ochs machines??

If not how are they different?Which have you heard is suppose to be better.

Thank You,

JJ

P.S.Hershel Toomin also has a machine that utilizes brain blood flow. What is the general consensus on that?Is it considered as good as,better than about same etc as other neurofeedback.
