Guest guest
Since I am on a roll with list serve communcations I thought I would pick your brains a bit. There is some controversy in the medical field that heart "murmurs" and mitral valve proplapses can cause rather than just respond to autonomic nervous system problems mimicking anxiety and ADHD. Any thoughts or experiences? Additionally, I am treating several patients (not all trauma victims) with classic Somatization Disorders (pain symptoms from multiple systems, at least one neurological symtoms, may include sexual pain, etc.). Any successes? Thanks Ajay - Hastings
Guest guest
I have a client who suffered a heart attack during heart sugery. Following the surgery 4 years ago, she suffered from a startle- response at the slightest change in the environment (e.g. phone ringing, cat jumping suddenly, etc.) so that her heart would then race and she would be required to lie down for a long period of time to recover. After about 10 sessions of SMR (11-14) followed by A/T at O1, she is now proceeding w/o the startle-response activated at small things, and even when someone scared her from behind in class as a joke, her heart only raced a few seconds and she was back to normal. I'm not sure if this is what you were looking for, but it connects somewhat to the question. Guest guest
Re: Heart Defects induced autnonomic problems Lee Thank you for responding to my inquiry. SMR makes sense and I will begin with those efforts. Sincerely, Alan J.
