Guest guest
I am using the Tanita with the tracking program. I like it a lot but there is a 1-3% error in body fat even when pre weighing guidelines are followed. I only use the athletic mode for people that work out vigorously at least one hour 6-7 days per week. Good luck! Which scale are you buying? t Rodman RD, LD, CPTWellness Corporate SolutionsBeyondfit123@...
Guest guest
I have the BF350 model with Health management software. I have also used the 410 and like it a lot. Was able to track patients both ways. Hydration might be part of the reason in such a huge discrepancy of 1 to 11%! t Rodman RD, LD, CPTWellness Corporate SolutionsBeyondfit123@... Guest guest
I think I am going to get the TBF 410GS. I called Tanita customer service and was told to only use athletic mode if the pt exercises at least 10 hrs a week AND has a resting pulse of <60bpm. They could provide no explanation as to why some individuals come out 1% lower body fat when tested on athletic mode and others come out 11% lower! I am just trying to understand how it works. Guest guest
We have the Tanita professional (step-on) body comp. Its my understanding the key is to make sure that you always use the same mode on the same person (so that your always comparing apples to apples). We do one upon starting the program and repeat every 25# lost for comparison. Mostly what we use it for is to ensure that muscle mass is not being lost. In addition, we do a body gem as well which also measures RMR and gives us a calorie level for comparison to the body comp. I think the body gem gives a more accurate number personally. Good Luck! Are there any other options? My concernwith Tanita is it only has 2 activity levels to choose from, so acompletely sedentary person is treated identical to a person whoexercises 9 hours/week? Anyone done any research on this? Is it worth purchasing?
