The WMDPG is researching the fact that we need to employ some standards of care. or , if you would like, I will notify you when this information becomes available to me. I recently posed a similar question to 's on their list serve, and the comments/interest was phenomenal. The moderator shared that a subgroup would be forming soon.

ADA Bariatric GroupColleagues -Do any of you also receive postings from ADA's new Weight Management DPGlist? Recently there was a flurry of interest in developing a bariatricsubgroup. I confess to not paying much attention because I was in anoverload schedule for the past few weeks. Does the leadership of thatgroup know we exist? If anyone's taken the initiative in cross-fertilizingthe groups, I won't concern myself further...but, if not....I'll suggestthey get in touch with on this list (, is that the best thing todo?).I've enjoyed reading the contributions on this list - I've actually been anobserver vs a participant. In our private practice, we're increasinglygetting pre-surgery referrals so I was thrilled to find out about thisgreat group. Hi (and all) -

First, I congratulate you on starting something simply, effectively, and

positively to meet your needs and the needs of at least 300 people!

Second, I completely understand your stance on politics, etc. There's a

time and a place to work within a greater organization and a time and a

place to work outside of one. I have no idea of the best future plans -

but, since we are all (?) happy right here, let's keep this discussion

rolling!

In a personal note to Randi, I encouraged cross-fertilization between the

groups (starting with informing the Weight Management DPG list of this

list). At the moment I was " bumped " from the list due to technical issues

so I am out of the loop.

I won't inform WMDPG of this list, unless would like that, and it didn't sound like she was interested from a previous email. I don't want to cause animosity between anyone. I just want to learn all that I can, and enlighten others, as well.
