Mandi what are you using to supplement the B vits?

Metabolics liquids I have P5P form of B2, P5P form of B6, B3 as NADH, Folininc. I do caps of B5 cos he needs at least 250mg per day. Mish mash really

Thanks Natasa, I am already supplementing them all except the B's, where can you get the individual B's.

TIA

Thanks Mandi, where would I get the metabolics? We are pretty much Kirkmans everything here except for enzymes and MB12.

We have just had Tom's functional blood B vitamins re-done via

Breakspear. The results before we started biomedical were all in

normal range. Now they are all poor!

B1 Thamine - Thiamine activation 43%, Thiamine status poor

B2 Riboflavin - Riboflavin activation 39%, riboflavin status poor

B6 Pyridoxine - activation 29%, status poor

Why is this? Don't understand and am worried about implications.

I supplement with biocare B complex drops (all of above are in it) 20

drops per day which is double usual dose and Tom gets B vits via his

BC spectrum support.

I'm not sure whether to panic or despair.

(Tom also come down with wretched bug that is doing the rounds so

isn't eating, just lying in his bed - v hot, flushed, eyes v red. V

sad, miserable boy and worried Mum = not good combination.)

This happened to our Tom too. First off he was borderline, fair,

poor and second time he was borderline, poor, poor. Think it was

his pin wheel spinning a bit fast - i.e. although we were shovelling

B vits in his metabolism was speeding through them. That was (a

rough approximation of) Dr Heard's thinking.

We do B via spectrum support but also MB12 (although not at present)

plus B6. Is folinic a B vit? We give that too!

this is from DrN re supplementing mb12 shots/spray:

MB12 depletes :

Magnesium

Zinc

Selenium

B2

B3

B6

Vit C

Vit E

Also as it bypasses a biochem pathway you need EITHER folic acid or

folinic acid

for dosing info see www.kirkman.com and look for DrN supplement and read

the amounts in that one (it was created to his instructions). Detailed

info can also be found on his website I thind www.drneubrander.com or

try googling it.

Hi Gail

I don't read or post anything like as many emails as I should,

but I happened to notice yours today.

When we first had the same test for my sons' B vits in 2004, his B1 was 17%

(borderline), B2 was 19% Borderline but his B6 was an appalling (and

apparently record breaking) 70%.

We weren't doing any MB12 at that time, we were giving csoem multi vits and

a B complex.

We've now normalised his B levels - wahoo.

It has taken about a year.

To get at the b6 deficiency, we had to give what I would have described as

insane levels of B6 (circa 13000% of RDA) and we had to give 250mg per day

of P5P. P5P is a more readily assimulated verision of B6. If you add the two

together we're giving something 25000% of RDA for B6.

Scary stuff.

We've just had another set of blood tests done and I hope we can now start

to taper down the B6/P5P.

The reason I email is really to say that you're probably going to have to

get hold of quite specific supplements to target the deficiency.

We use Kirkmans supernuthera as they have a variety that has massive doses

of B6, as well as being a multivit. In addition, we have P5P from the pure

range, available at the Breakespeare. Pure also have B1 & B2.

I know that opinions regarding kirkmans on this list can often be quite

polar. We have never had any issues with any of their supplements, but some

kids do seem to get hyper on Supernuthera. They do have smaple sizes, which

only cost a few dollars. You can also order Kirkmans from Nutricentre in the

UK and get a discount.

Hope that helps

We just got some B3 by Allergyresearch at Nutricentre. They and Thorne

also do B5 - for some reason the cost is £50!!!! Does anyone know

why?
