Wow, we basically posted the same question within a minute of each

other! I spent all morning searching the board to see if anyone else

had addressed this before! LOL

Good morning,

First off, Why will they only let you work out 3 days a week? Do they

make you go on certin days. like you can only go M,W,F? If so could

you get a 2nd membership there for T,TH,S?

How about going to the gym on weight days & then running outside for

cardio days?

How about going to the gym on carido days and using homemade weights?

a soup can, gallon of milk, etc

If your brand new to working out you could do all the weight training

with out any weights until get use to the form & breathing.

exercises that can be down with out equipment:

squats, lunges, abs, calf raise, pushups, jumping jacks, running, etc

When I was in Army Bacic Training I went from 130lb size 12 to 130lbs

size 7 in 2 months with out any equipment. I ran 2-5 miles on T,TH,S

& did calistenics (SP?) M,W,F.

Hope this helps

---Ihave an idea..just do your weight training at the gym so you can

use all the weights...and do your cardio outside..like

running..jumping rope..or even you could get away with a high intense

tae bo video. how about that?

That's a standard thing with a Bally's membership. Those discount rates you

see on TV for like $15/month or like that the fine print is that it's only

3x/week that you can work out. You get a card when you join and they will

usually check it at the door.

You can do your cardio at home and weights at the gym. That would

work out to 3 times a week. Can you do running outside for cardio?

I would agree, use the gym for the weights and do cardio on your own

at home. A jump rope is the cheapest piece of cardio equipment you

can buy (less than $10), although, I can't jump rope - makes me pee

my pants. You could also try sprinting up steep grassy hills and

walking back down. My neighbor had a trainer that would have her

sprint up hills and then do side stepping squats back down the hill

with 15lb dumbells. If you have access to a building with many

flights of stairs, you could walk/run up the steps. Does your local

library have excercise videos that you can check out? Some of the

TaeBo tapes can be pretty intense.

i only go to the gym 3 days a week, and do my cardio elsewhere

(usually). i like having access to a full range of weight equiptment-

but for cardio all you really need is yourself, a watch, and maybe a

good pair of shoes.

also, if you'd like to do swimming as your cardio, look into memberships

at a local public pool. they're usually pretty inexepensive, maybe

enough so to compliment/offset your gym membership.
