You have a 48 oz container right?Other than placing the fruits with the most liquid at the bottom (to make is easy for the blades to create as much liquid as possible to pull down and float the heavier items like ice…) whenever I've found spinach floating on the top it was because the spinach got caught between the lid and the container, and pinched (trapped) the spinach up there. When you take the lid off - there it is!IF you have a swirling vortex of liquid, and the spinach is not trapped between the lid and the container (or stuck to the side of the container like a wet leaf would stick to the side of a wet pane of glass) then there is no way that spinach will pass through the blades unprocessed. I do notice that with the shorter container it is harder to use the tamper to reach the area at the top where the liquid and the sides of the container make a right angle. This is where something needs to scrape down those spinach leaves that are either trapped by the lid, or stuck on the sides via suction. You can just get everything blending, stop, turn it on to variable speed #1, increase the speed until JUST the lowest speed that will create a vortex (the hole in the middle of the drink), take of the lid, use a spatula to scrape the stuck spinach leaves off of the sides until they get sucked into the vortex, put the lid back on, and ramp the speed back up to 10 then high.Blessings,Lea Ann SavageSatellite Beach, FL(321) 773-7088 (home)(321-961-9219 (cell)www.BlenderLady.com(AKA the Vitamix Lady :-)<:)))><

I just received my VM and have been attempting to make them in my new blender..but have run into a issue

I make green fruit smoothies and in my old blender it really didnt' matter what order I placed the items.. i.e. hand ful of spinach, chopped a few carrots , 1/4 c yogurt and 1-1/2 cup of frozen fruit liq of some type approx 1/2-2/3 c and a few ice cubes.. it blended with NO problem.. nothing was left all the ingredients well incorporated..

Now the issue.. when I add the similar items to my vitamix.. is seems to struggle .. and even with using the plunger to get the items DOWN to the blades.. I continue to end up with a few leaves of spinach sitting on top of the mix.. first I though I wasn't running it long enough..so increased the time but nope that didnt' do it..

so is there an ORDER for placing the items in the carafe that I should be using????

My new VM is one of the New models.. with the smaller and wider carafe..

I am stumped.... so need some veterans to give me guidance

through QVC... they are having a Show featuring the new Model toward the end of

April and if you are a member of their QVC Insider Magazine they allow you to

order and receive the items well in advance of the show. That is what I did....

If you want to see it.. just type in this item number...K37278 They must have

sold a ton of them as the black is on wait list... and it hasn't even aired on

the show ..not even once. but buying on QVC you only get the 5 yr warranty vs
