Mine hasn't and it's been 3 years of losing weight but I hear

when you are doing the workouts with BFL it does help but

just takes some time to stretch back.

I was going to get a tummy tuck after my next child, but in

the mean time I'm doing BFL in hopes I won't have to. :)

Oh good...there is hope yet. :-) I am not worried about the muscle (even

tho I had a C-section) because I can really feel it under there but the

wrinkly, elephant-y, saggy YUCK skin is a little discouraging! :-)

I don't know if there will be a next child... I had a HORRIBLE pregnancy and

I think the one I have now is such a sweet little guy that I don't want to

mess anything up!! Haha!!

Check out Pam Brown's transformation:

I don't believe she had any type of surgeries.

I can tell you that I had my last child almost 12 years ago and I

have stretchmarks all over my stomach. I currently am in the process

of my skin tightening. While I think Pam brown was young so had

better elasticity than me, I'm beginning to see a difference. I do

think that it will take longer than 1 challenge for the skin to

tighten. I'm on C1W9 right now. My plan is in challenge 2 I will

keep decreasing my bodyfat, but not necesarily lose weight and

hopefully my skin will tighten back up. It is pretty loose and I

don't like how it is not attached to my ab muscles especially when I

bend over. UGH!!! I'm 40 by the way.

Haha, Bridgette! Same with me!!! I bend over and I need a bra for my

stomach!! Hahahhahaha!

I weigh 145 which isn't really bad but my skin is so flabby and wrinkly! My

sister in law had to have a tuck since hers was SOOOO bad! She weighs 110

and her pregnancy really stretched her stomach out. I hope I don' t have to

resort to that.

I'm a realist, so I thought I'd point something out. We

inherit, mostly, our skin's elasticity. Where one woman could balloon,

through pregnancy or rapid weight gain, and retain smooth skin,

another, like myself, will come out looking like a cat scratch post.

I think by simply reforming one's body, the tummy will look nicer and

by eating properly the skin will regain some collagen, but I do not

think stretched skin will bounce back through BFL.

If you look at Pam Brown's pictures more closely, even the BFL

Success Journal photos.....she looks awesome,fabulous and ripped,but

her bottoms are not totally revealing....they are pulled up...which

may or may not be, to cover up the lower section, where, when your

body fat drops, the saggy skin will reduce to. Also, tan hides a lot

as well as lighting. I have red stretch marks and not so tight skin,

but the untrained eye can't see that in photos that aren't " close

ups " .

These are just my opinion and not meant to discourage anyone. I hope

you, as I, can look at our progress and not some air-brushed idea of

perfection.

I originally posted the question and yes, I agree that we inherit the

tendency for stretch marks. The stretch marks aren't what bothers me...I

have three scars on my right knee that are about 4 inches long from knee

surgeries, I also have a scar on my elbow from surgery there AND my

c-section scar. Haha...I am falling apart. Anyway, it's the flabby skin

that worries me. I don't want to tuck my excess skin into my underwear or

anything...so I guess I am going to have to see the final results and decide

where to go from there. The last thing I want is another surgery but I am

not afraid of a scar if that's what I have to do! :-) Thanks for all the

insight and comments.

Re: Stomach skin

I completely agree with everything you said...I didn't want to come off as

negative, but you said it with a lot of tact. I have known several women

who had babies and then started bodybuilding. Their skin never went back to

what it was before and they wore those bottoms as well....they would pull

down the extra skin into the bottoms, making their tummy appear tighter than

it was. is subject to the Terms of Service

bottoms, making their tummy appear tighter than it was. One of them

finally broke down and had a tummy tuck. She said she would do the

same thing over again, but it was a pretty big undertaking and left a

pretty big scar. But it depends on your genetics..my aunt has had

two kids, one of which she got up to about 220 (she's about 5'2 " ) and

is now a bodybuilder with a six pack you could bounce a quarter off

of. She also has very minimal stretch marks. It's all in your genes

when it comes to stretch marks and elasticity. My little sister who

is only 21 and has never had kids has terrible stretch marks, whereas

my mom has none. I have tiny ones on my hips

I'm sure you will look great!!!!

>Also, I am thinking that some might depend on how many hours you

have spent lying in the sun with a bikini on ruining your skin and

it's ability to bounce back. I know with me, many years ago we all

would lay out hours and hours (California)no one would have thought

to put sunscreen on and rather would oil ourselves up. I am 48yrs.

and can see that even on my legs the skin is not as tight looking (I

have never been more than 15lbs over weight...). The skin has just

been damaged. I figure that this has to be a factor. Thank God that

now days more people are realizing that the sun AGES. My daughter

would never allow her (very fair) daughter go out to play without

sunscreen...I do not go out of the house without it on my face....but

who would have thought a person could get crepe legs??? Okay, no one

else could probably see mine...but I know it's there. With lotion it

is not nonticable to others...Just a warning here, Girls....wear your

sun screen..ha ha.

I have excess skin and I know I responded to this before. I started

BFL because I wanted to see if I could reduce as much as possible

before the possibility of surgery would be an option...and if it clears

it up, great, if not, then I have a great foundation. I still have on kiddo

to go, but it is something that really bothers me. I mean I have a huge

issue about it, so for me, it will be worth it. It just rides my self

concious all the time.

Keep me posted on how you are doing. I was 210 roughly and I'm

down in the 150's after 3 years of trying, hopefully this will the year

I lose the rest and can get everything toned, and tightened up! :) Oh,

and I'm 5 foot.

Hello, Tink.

210 to 150's? That is wonderful! Excess skin or not, you are working hard!

I enjoy reading posts on this site so much...everyone is helping to keep me

motivated.

The stupid thing is that I should not be complaining. It isn't THAT bad,

but it bothers me. I mean, my leg looks like a road map from scars but that

doesn't bother me half as much as being nekked with my stomach skin. You

can't see my stomach, for heaven's sake, and you can see my knee all the

time. Maybe because the knee scars are an excuse and the stomach isn't.

Well, Jake did stretch me beyond all recognition! My stretch marks go above

my belly button!! Yuck.

Anyway, good for you in your challenge. I am going to adopt your thinking

with the " foundation " idea. I like that. :-) Thanks for responding back

and good luck with your BFL!!!
